Casio was very good between 1985-1989. Started with CZ-series (PD synthesis), then the FZ-series (sampling, subtractive, additive, waveform drawing), HT-series (subtractive), and ending on VZ-series (iPD). Then it all ended...

Shame there were no realtime controls on the CZ range

@@annother3350 Digital synthesizers usually have too many parameters to fit on a front panel. Analog synthesizers are usually very basic, so it's easier to have a knob per function on those. Roland tried with the JD-800, but in order to have a slider per function on the JD-800, the panel would have to be four times the size. So they compromised this with the tone select buttons.

Your power adaptor is maybe too small for it. Try to get a bigger one. If it does not help theinternal regulator ICs may be already broken.
