I most whole heartedly agree!!

I wouldn't mind it so much if LED "Illuminators" at least had double LEDs for a smoother, more even illumination.

Casio always put Illuminator on any watch that had backlight, f91w has illuminator on it. The Electro Luminescent watches specified that separately,

This is correct for like 95% Illuminator is usually a regular LED, it will specify EL

Didn't know that's the case. Tho, I have nothing against a classic LED if it's good enough to make the whole screen visible (not like in F-91W). That bright illuminator light can sometimes blind me in the middle of night. Also, I like to control how long the light will be on. I don't like auto-settings with 1 or 3 seconds, like on new G-shocks.

The new white LEDs they're using are actually quite good and light up the whole display. It's just that they're using the word 'illuminator' on some models, and this word was used only for EL back-lights in the past.

use f105, manual led light also considering cheap u get blue greenish gshock style than that candle lit F91 ones ( wish w217/218 had this 105 module)

They they arent making these anymore

they've been doing this for donkeys years. I have an old casio that I got over 15 years ago that says illuminator but doesn't have an EL backlight

I had to return many due to this misconception...they all look good, but stupid light function spoils the whole thing...

@@trev1373 I agree even a cheap casio seems to have more utility and quality than other cheap brands, I just hate bad lighting on watches.

My B650w says illuminator, but it has classic led backlight.

Casio only used to write 'illuminator' only on watches EL backlight watches. Now they are writing it on watches even with LED backlights which is what makes it confusing. They need to come up with a different term such as 'LED Illumination' for these watches.

Casio has started producing Illuminator system using LEDs because they don’t drain battery at the high levels of the old electro luminescence

0:34 In my opinion, this Casio watch's backlight is not that bad and not dim. It is the F-91W that has terrible backlight. Casio should have either give the F-91W a better backlight, or discontinue the entire lineup.

Just stop with all the LED period. It's uneven and harsh. Feels less refined and a compromise that cost less to produce.

EL backlights are being phased out by Casio at least. They are only installing it on older models.

I have awesome looking led casios, cheap ones too. So idk why they should stop altogether. Also led's consume less power than el.

I completely agree however I go a step further and tell him to stop making them. They have no place in modern day

They use less eleectricity so thers that. They look great on plenty of casios, so thats wierd to say. Seriously were talking sub 30$ watches that do everything and last forever lol smh. If theres a company doing it better than casio point them out lol.
