Anyone who has seen and loved, as I have, Peter Cushing and Andre Morell in Hound of the Baskervilles should see this to appreciate how really great these two actors are.
This is a really wonderful and tense British thriller. It showcases what a wonderful actor Peter Cushing was. He had that priceless asset all great actors have: believability.

Many years ago when I was an art student in London, one of my fellow studnets had a Saturday job in Harrods, where he regularly served a silent Peter Cushing with a single Mars bar. Apparently he had been doing his Mars bar shopping there for years. One day, it was noted Mr Cushing didn't come in and so the student was sent round to the star's residence in a Harrods van, with a single Mars bar. Mr Cushing hadn't ordered it, but the department manager saw it as an obligation.

What a charming story! Thank you for sharing it.
Agree, Cushing was at his finest. The plot was brilliant. Enjoyed every clever moment. 👌
I'm from Canada but live in Greece. On this dark night with the blinds down, I really started to feel like it's snowing outside! Thank you so much for this movie and that feeling of Christmas!
Thank you for posting this film. What an excellent performance by Peter Cushing! This was a good little British thriller/mystery with a touch of the master storytelling of O.Henry. IMO, British actors are quite accomplished....I think due to their classical theater training. Please show more British movies. Thank you.
My, that was a very clever thief. Cushing's tear, sweating, facial expressions were crisp. His superb performance held me captive.
Talk about a 7 course meal of HUMBLE PIE ...i love the way he had to rely on the very people he looked down on and the entire staff showed him empathy and compassion...great movie!!!
Although Peter Cushing was known for playing powerful, intelligent, and even imposing characters he was actually a very gentle man, as well as a gentleman. He was known to be kind to younger and less experienced actors and actresses, sometimes deflecting the criticism of directors. He was married for many years and was truly devastated when his wife passed away, he took some time to come back to acting. Oh and he even featured on a song that chartered. Unlike his friend Christopher Lee, who was on a couple of very heavy metal records, Mr Cushing was sampled for a trance / dance track. It was called something like Snow White Clouds. Not only one of the finest actors of his generation but one of the finest actors full stop.
Love this film but then again, I'm partial to anything with Peter Cushing in. ❤

My God I never knew they were making movies this good back then! Outstanding performances and very good script.
This is a terrific British noir. Superb acting. Highly recommended!
There's a certain charm in watching properly remastered black n white movie.
These good old black and whites really are good to watch.
I really enjoyed this Christmas thriller. There was one small thing that kept putting me off. It was every time they called the bank manager's name. I thought the crook kept calling him four eyes as an insult, and then I realized everyone was calling him that. I must be misinterpreting his name. Aha, his name was Fordyce. Anyway, it was a very intense performance by Peter Cushing and powerful lead by André Morell.

Grazie KZread for showing this brillant well-written and acted old clasic! It was pure 'theatre' and begs comparison any day with the over-priced movies that come out of Hollywood studios---guess it was done on a 'budget'---only a good script and 1st rate acting from two actors in mainly two rooms of a simple set!

@user-pl6wk3wg6d Thomas Conrad This seems to be a substantially truncated version of the movie. According to IMDB, this movie is 1 Hour and 29 Minutes long; but here, this video is only 1 Hour and 3 Minutes long. What gives??

Anyone else spot the 1958 Maserati 3500 GT Coupe at 4.00? A very rare & exotic machine for those days - you'd need to be a bank robber to purchase & run one! Excellent movie by the way

A fascinating film from 1961 with some good casting: Peter Cushing, André Morell, Richard Vernon and Norman Bird.

Wow! That was quite a twist ending...
I don’t know this movie at all but at eight minutes and I’m already hooked. Like, what’s up? Is he actually Security, or and a con man? He gives them a business card and he’s practically in the vault

@@debbabbit9283 in uk you now only get bank branches in bigger towns and there are far fewer in cities. There are "hole in the wall" cash machines where the bank used to be and a lot of banking is done online. They want people to go cashless where you pay with a "tap in" card or your mobile phone. People, eg the older ones, are not happy. I think in Sweden it is hard to pay for anything with money.

Actually a very good movie with excellent players! It seems Cushing starts out as an obcessive compulsive and unfortunately, these gems are cut. Some have the heart cut right out of them and are unbearable to watch when you've seen the movie. They're so good the pulse keeps going but you haven't a clue as to what really happens.
