On this day, 20 years ago, Casey Kasem hosted his very last week on AT40 marking the end of the Last Casey Kasem Era. On the very next week, Ryan Seacrest began hosting AT40 and he's still the host to this day.

Many animation fans remember Casey Kasem as the voice of Shaggy Rogers on the many incarnations of "Scooby Doo" from 1969 through his death. But does anyone recall his first major voice? It was the rhyming drummer Groove from the "Cattanooga Cats' animated compilation series which also premiered in 1969. Unfortunately, Scooby Doo wound up being more popular.

Back in the day, 1998-2004 Reelworld Productions in Seattle did countdown show jingles. AT40 was one of them, along with The Crook And Chace Country Countdown, Dic Clark's US Music Survey, and Ben And Brian's Big Top 20 Countdown. The current AT40 jingles are produced by TM Studios.

I remember hearing this on my walkman radio back in 2004, but I had no idea that this was his last at40 show. However, I did suspect something was awry when the theme song at the end was played a lot longer than normal.

Do you remember what LDDs he played;? and after what numbers they were played;? and do you remember what radio stations he said AT40 was heard in in the 50 states and around the world every single weekend;? and after what numbers he said those radio stations;? and do you remember what songs he said were number one in earlier years that weekend;? and what radio station were you listening to on your walkman when that countdown aired?

I'd hope that anybody have the final AT40 showcase in '04 when Casey Kasem made it official. I'd missed the tenor/baritone voice of the original AT40. I would like to dedicate that episode. As a request?

Ryan Seacreast wouldn't make a pimple on Casey Kasem's ass. Ryan thinks he's the next Dick Clark and Casey Kasem, but he can only hope to be, because he isn't.

There will be another Casey Kasem if his son Michael has a son and names him Kamal Amin Kasem and he looks exactly like Casey and is as famous as him and his stage name is Casey Kasem. His son Michael got married June 24, 2019; so who knows?

I do miss Casey Kasem doing at40, however, I do give Ryan Seacrest props for not imitating Casey and being true to himself. Although, when he tells "stories" about charting artists, it sounds like gossip coming from his mouth.

I couldn't do what he did, starting about mid 80's listening to all that horrible music for 20 years. It was great music before the mid 80s though.
