Carver CX vs Grasp PADO.23 Long Distace Pumping Comparison - Round 2

Спорт

This is a follow-up to this video: • Surfskate Long Distanc...
I compare one more race between my Carver CX on a 16.75" wheelbase Skinny Goat deck and my Grasp PADO.23 #surfskate trucks on a Whitetail Tigershark deck set to a 19" wheelbase (it's adjustable).
Which is better for long-distance pumping? I'm still not sure, but with these setups, it's pretty close.

I think that you know: it's obviously due to the different wheelbase, like the gear on a bike.

Yes, but the trucks have different turning radiuses too, so the main question was how equivalent are both systems at these wheelbases.

You cannot do a speed comparison with different setups. The Grasp has a much longer wheelbase and it is therefore faster, you should repeat the experiment by keeping everything the same except the trucks, otherwise it is just misleading.

in the first test the CX was faster. I feel the CX, even at the shorter WB is faster than the Grasp in general. But to know for sure I'd have to run the test like 100 times.

How I did speed comparison was to keep the setup axle wheel base constant with the only difference being the surf truck. I then use a gps tracking software and max pump in a straight road from point A to B then gauge the average speed. I dont have a grasp but did the test on meraki, Smoothstar, waterborne, cx n Slide V3. Top speed wise, cx n Slide were on par. Ease of pumping n speed generation, Slide won all hands down. Meraki was the best 4 uphill pumping.

I'd love to try a slide someday. How do the Smoothstar and the Meraki compare? I suspect that Grasp is similar to them even though it is bushing based.

@@dxsaigon In terms of long distance pumping, Meraki will be more efficient n is more divvy

I've heard that Grasp feels about half way between a CX and a Meraki and my CX goes uphill better than the CX, especially on the same wheelbase, but is more work for LDP. Currently preferring my Grasp for downhill carving and CX for LDP. I'd love to try out other trucks and decks.
