CARVANA CATFISHED ME! BUYING A CIVIC TYPE R LIMITED EDITION

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

What was supposed to be one of my most exciting car deliveries yet turned into an absolute nightmare. I will never buy another car from Carvana after they catfished me and sold me a dirty, damaged CTR LE.
I have 7 days to test drive and make a final decision. I really do love driving this car!

I used to work at a Carvana vending machine detailing all the cars, the cars would actually come out pretty decent as long as we had all the right chemicals and car wash equipment. However when I got moved to the inventory lot to do the same thing, the job quickly declined, the zoning of the inventory lot gave us a lot of issues and the city ordered we could not wash cars on the property, now imagine all the sold cars that got delivered that we had to prep without the help of a pressure washer or soap. This man's experience basically makes sense to me but I can only imagine how others feel about buying cars from Carvana. If you ask me its hit or miss, you might get a deal, might get a money pit nightmare

When I bought my car last year Carvana was one of the places I was looking at because I had a very specific car and color I was looking for and they seemed reputable. After hearing all the lawsuits and allegations they are facing now I'm just really glad I didn't end up buying anything from them. I hope you sent this back unless you got a really good price for it. Also hopefully you had no issues getting your title for it because that seems to be a big issue with them.

I took a lot of pride delivering cars for Carvana, genuinely enjoyed the reactions of most people receiving the car they have been waiting for or saving up for. But the people behind it, some of the most double standard and self-centered management I've ever experienced. They use cleaning and detailing as a second hand chore or punishment, which is disgusting because I'm going over everything to make each delivery count, and 9 times out of 10 you don't have spare time laying around. Getting off the phone with a customer and mapping out my route and how long everything takes, only to pick up the car from detail completely half-assed because the person on punishment is just sitting around on youtube or instagram. Everyone knows how terrible a company they are inside and out, oh and by the way, NOBODY knows how to drive stick...literally nobody, and the ones that "do", grind your gears down taking 42 attempts to get it up the flatbed. And you thought the bumper scrape was bad lol. Stay away from Carvana. Edit: im talking shit and hating on them, but also how do they stay in business. Every new hire they bring on get a paid trip to Arizona for 6 days to "learn how to operate an Izuzu NPR flatbed". Airbnb, paid ubers, and reimbursed food/drink. They may not be doing it right now, but from the start of their business up until March 2020 with COVID they were flying HUNDREDS of people to AZ weekly. wtf

Definitely embarrassing for carvana to deliver a 4600 mile car in that condition. • @BrisLS1

    @BrisLS1

That was my question. Was it a bargain? It is hard to buy cars knowing they lived their life 1/4 mile at a time up until you came in. Price matters, and Carvana expects you to understand that. Their business model is, you can afford to complain about tires and replacing shift knobs and rubber things inside the car. They are here to get you TO THAT CAR, which you would not be able to even test drive otherwise.

I’ve worked at carvana at one of their inspection/repair centers and you’d be shocked at how many cars are fucked up like that. They may repaint a quarter panel or bumper and buff out some scratches but that’s it. They basically make these cars look okay for the pictures and put them up for sale. So many of them smell horrendous inside like smoke or mildew, paint fading and chipping, transmissions shifting like it’s full of rocks, all kinds of issues from mechanical problems to body damage. I would advise everybody to never purchase a vehicle through them. There’s a reason used car salesmen are typically labeled “sleazy”, now turn that guy into a corporate entity pumping out thousands of vehicles a month and you’re asking for trouble. Be smart people, there’s a reason they want to just drop it off to you and leave once you buy it, making a purchase as large as a car shouldn’t be as easy as ordering from amazon.

I added mudflaps (because the paint it too thin), PPF to the whole front of the car, Side markers that tied into the turn signals, interior cabin lights to LED lights, Swapped all the speakers in the car and added an amp for a better subwoofer that still fit in the hub, some noise-canceling mats in the doors and under the dash so make the cabin a little quieter since I was on the highway a lot, and of course some window guards just because. Had a lot of fun with the car though, I just changed out to a 2022 VW golf R. Hope you enjoy it once everything gets rolling.

literally got fired for bringing too much attention to a customer's issue where a customer was told when her contract was getting rebuild after title issues and it took 5+ months of dealing with her contract being rebuilt, several reps told her she will have the delayed months of rebuild( mind you she couldn't make payments while system showed no purchase or contract) she was told we will cover those payments. Until bridgecrest( the financing ) started threatening to tow due to lack of payments. very VERY long story short and many arguments with management later I was finally successful at getting carvana yo honor their word to her. No where in training do they tell u to warn customer's to continue to make payments or put those payments in savings because they will be charged one lump sum. This woman had just lost her daughter, husband went blind and dealing with bs reps who didn't care and she was ready to sue... until she got me. We were told to treat customer's as if they are our mother...( the unspoken fine print to this "company principal" unless it doesn't benefit carvana. Principles only apply when it makes carvana $$) after the light and questioning the system I was then plotted against and 30 days later fired after I was sent home due to child needing covod test. They then refused unemployment claiming I knew I broke the rules. The owner has earned himself the title of WORLDS BEST SCAMMER. Plus THEY DO NOT EVER INSPECT THE VEHICLES DESPITE WHAT THEY CLAIM. 95% OF THEIR VEHICLES ARE LEMONS!!!!

I ordered a Mustang from them. It was raining when it showed up so I couldn’t inspect the paint. Went to the car wash the next day. When the brushes cleaned the front, blocking the air intake, my engine temp skyrocketed. When the brushes moved to clean the sides, the temp went down. Clean and dry, I inspected the paint. Multiple chips in the paint, one was down to the metal so it’s going to rust. Checked the fluids, BONE DRY COOLANT TANK. The car had no coolant, which explains the high engine temp when air is blocked. The pipe connected to my left muffler broke. My mechanic had me come out to the shop floor so he could show me something, which has never happened before. Because of insurance shops don’t let people wander around the garage. He showed me the terrible welding job someone did to connect the pipe to mufflers NOT for a 2014 Mustang. He said the mufflers likely came from a Mustang GT and someone thought they would sound better. Then he pointed to writing on the mufflers. Someone used a grease pen to but “AB” on each muffler with a circle around the letters my mechanic said “That’s what they do at junkyards.” So my Carvana car showed up with chipped paint, no coolant, and junkyard mufflers for a different vehicle attached by a welder with no skill.

Just imagine how much sweat and grime on the suede steering wheel from the driver that did those track days. In addition buying a limited edition vehicle, site unseen, no PPI what could you expect. While it may no be up to your measure even if you give it back there are others that would buy that vehicle and move on. Probably what your looking for you would need to have a PPI done on a vehicle before purchasing that is not in your local. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it.

The scratches would have been clearly visible while it was on the truck. You could have refused it right there. Used cars have scratches. The way the driver scraped the front getting off the flatbed in front of you would have been a deal breaker right there. If he scrapes it while your filming can you imagine how it was treated out of your sight.

As someone who autocrosses her 2017, since Day 1, trust me, you're going to have a lot more of the dirt, scratches, etc. from building and tracking the car. A car only looks perfect once, the first time it rolls off the truck. That being said, I would ask Carvana for an adjustment in price as a refund. And get a quote from a reputable paint guy to properly fix that one scratch. Also, I would have a Honda Tech check out the car, because I don't think the previous owner baby-d it. They can pull code history.

Dealt with Carvana recently and if I knew then what I know now, I would of never dealt with them. Purchase went pretty good with no problems but when it came them them delivering my truck, oh boy what a joke. I bought a red F-150 with a brush guard and when it came to delivery, they delivered the wrong truck not once but twice! When they finally delivered the right truck it had way more scratches and chips that they stated. Since it's a used truck, it is expected but it would of been nice to know. Then it came with a soft bed cover and they didn't secure it so during transport it was left flailing in the wind which led to it tearing in many places. The driver said do a post delivery claim on their website but their system kept on saying error! Dealing with human was almost impossible and don't bother texting since it mostly bots with a scripted response. Needlessly to say after a whole week, it finally went through. However I'm still waiting to resolve the issues and I will never deal with Carvana again even tho I like the truck.

Second vehicle came without a hitch. I suggest it. Just stay on top of the transaction and make sure you get extra info if it's from an "affiliate" seller. Check the carfax. It should have mileage records each time it was serviced, if it was serviced. Chances are this was owned by a young mechanic who drove back and forth to his job as a mechanic, which is where all the grime came from.

i bought my very first car from carvana back in september. its a 2010 camaro ss with a manual trans. before i get into the issues, i decided to keep the car because it was my dream car and i wasnt looking for a perfect example like you were. i wanted something that i could take and make my version of perfect. so heres where carvana took shortcuts, both front and back bumpers were obviously resprayed and have orange peel, overspray in a lot of places including on the passenger side front wheel. their inspection failed to find a broken suspension component. and this car being a 12 year old, 83,000 mile car, i obviously expected there to be scratches and just what you’d expect to find on a car with this amount of miles and age. on carvana’s listing, they only had pointed out like 3 or 4 of the many scratches all over the car, both doors had chips at the end like yours did in the video, both mirrors were scratched at the ends, the front quarter panels were covered in rock chips. when looking at the car from a little bit of distance, these things really arent noticeable, but when inspecting the car up close they are really noticeable

My 2020 R is in way better shape with 10k miles. Get Sonax Alcantara cleaner, let it sit on the wheel for a time, follow their instructions and brush it out. Check out AmmoNYC’s channel for how to detail and degrease the interior. Don’t use products that are too strong. Snag a little steamer and use it to straighten the creases in the seats. It’ll all come right back with no problems. With all of that said, have an independent mechanic do a PPI on this car before you decide. It looks very heavily tracked for some reason. I’m extremely suspicious that this wasn’t beaten on for clout at a few track days.

I feel your pain dude. I just bought a Tesla Model 3 Preformance with Vroom and I had a horrible experence with them. After 4 weeks of paperwork runaround I was finally given a 2 week dilevery window. The communication was horrible throughout the whole process. Well come delivery day by driver was an hour late then he called and delivered the car to the wrong address 1 block over so I did not get a chance to see the car come off the truck. He just drove it to my address. Well the car was incredibly dirty inside and out. They never washed it. There were scratches all over the car that were not listed. There were 2 rather nasty spyder chips on the top glass of the car. The bassenger side "B" pillar internal pannels fasteners are broken and the pannel easily pops off. The list goes on. I spent so much time and effort into getting this car that I kept it and had to fix all these problems on my own. Vroom did not take responsibility for the missing items in the description of the car. They basically just told me that I signed for the car at delivery and was not reported to the driver. And that I had a 7 day window to return the car but I would loose all the money I spent for the delivery fee. MY WARNING TO EVERYONE IS THIS... DONT BUY A CAR ONLINE USING CARVANA OR VROOM!!! I found a 2018 tundra through caravana June of 2020 they shipped it to their Kansas City hub from Texas. When I picked it up from the vending machine it was a quick easy process. Younger professionals from the looks of it who couldn’t be making much based on the pride in their work. The detail was so awful I figured first thing I’d do is give the car a proper cleaning (I spent some time working for a dealership contractor) after making the interior look new I noticed the frame was rusted all the way around the truck. With my knowledge of automobiles I know that Toyota has had issues in the past with frame rust so I ran a vin inquiry and it was never a part of any recall program. I took it to my personal mechanic and typically you’re waiting 20-25 minutes to talk to your guy about what passes and what does not pass their inspection but I barely sat down in the shops waiting area before they walked me out to the truck, told me that they would not buy it in its condition. I took their advice and took the truck back. It took them 6 days to get me my old Tacoma back because they had already sent it off to the “inspection location”. Is this the same station that may have let this rusted out Tundra pass through?? Caravana is a joke. Look at dealership reviews, read them for their best salesperson, pony up and go interact with people in the real world. You can avoid all of Carvanas BS this way. Believe it or not, I saved money buying my NEW 2021 Tundra from a dealer and I like going to get it serviced at the dealership and catching up with my sales lady and service advisor.

The car was probably raced for most of its miles that’s why the steering wheel is all beat up and had front tires replaced it also could have had the whole front end clear bra that’s why it doesn’t have rock chips. I would keep it it has very low miles is very rare and all the problems you pointed out can be fixed easily.

I think the accident had a minor front end collision. Thats why the steering wheel and tires were replaced. Airbag likely deployed so they needed to buy a new one. Probably did it under the table and did not report it.

have honda run the vin to see the options that car came with. only 4500 miles and the brakes are half way worn down? there is no way unless they were running it hard to the point there was bluing on the rotors. i would reject it. seems like there was major work done to it.

Being front wheel drive with those miles the I am shocked cup 2 tires lasted that long. On my vette I pampered I got 2460 miles out the rears.
