Teyeson Bee Yes, _similar_, thank you! I'm all for Vinyl having a voice _but_ I'm hesitant to see Nowack do it. Her contract would stipulate that she couldn't technically use that voice in fan works anymore. That would _suck_. She would have to tweak her voice or something (it's a grey area contractually). Besides, she says in the FAQ section on her tumblr that she most likely won't be asked. But yeah, a similar-sounding voice would be just fine. It's like how they gave Octavia a British voice in _Equestria Girls_ as a nod to Eilemonty. Now Eileen Montgomery can continue to be the unofficial voice of Octavia.

Uh... Shady? I don't wanna alarm you, but... Your OC, Neon is canon now. Season 4, episode 8, 2 minutes and 23 seconds in. Congratulations.

jonax64 Actually I believed that his name was "Neon Lights". Apparently he's supposed to be based on Billie Joe Armstrong. That's according to Jan and Shady anyway. I think. :|

TheRealShyGuy Yeah, Jan and Shady don't exactly have any authority to say what's canon or not. As far as the fandom knows, merchandise has labeled him "Rising Star." You can keep a fanon that his stage name is "Neon Lights," but alas we have to respect the name given. Kinda like what's going on with Bulk Biceps, aka Snowflake. It's not the name we wanted, but we don't have the right to say different. It isn't our decision.

Wow, I like this animating style. It's definitely faster-produced than full-blown animation, and it doesn't lose any of the quality.

Man, that concert I did with Neon really was a blast! And I'm glad we didn't have to pretend to hate each other at the concert cuz Neon really Is a good friend and I I'm glad people know that now. Anyway, not to get all mushy and stuff, I'm just glad on how It all worked out.

I don't really follow the show, so there's probably some reason within the storyline for this, but just out of curiosity: why is the one with dull colors called Neon, but the one with bright hair and glasses called Vinyl Scratch?

Well, Vinyl and Neon are both background ponies. Vinyl was named such by Hasbro when they came out with a toy for her (up until that point she was called DJ-PON3 by the fans) and Neon... no idea.

HalfTangible Vinyl Scratch and DJ-Pon3 are both fan names that became canon with officially licensed merch. Vinyl is her given name, while DJ-Pon3 is her stage name and the one that appears on all her merch. Neon Lights, I believe, was a randomly assigned blind bag name that fans accepted.

Joshjon Orch Neon has appeared in the show as an unnamed background pony. As of yet there have not been any pony OCs from fans introduced into the show. Sibsy got a fan pony because she's a storyboard artist with the show.

It's amazing how strong their friendship is. At the end, I was worried Vinyl was going to pummel Neon for dissing her love for auto-tune. But instead, they just laugh it off and keep being the best and truest of buds. We could take a lesson from their friendship, you know

Now you can really hear that Neon and Button are both voiced by ShadyVox. He's one awesome voice actor. And everybody who worked on this is awesome!
