Some credit I can give to this series is that it relied less on gross-out as it went on. Tween me thought this show was the funniest thing ever and would almost suffocate from laughing too hard. It’s honestly a guilty pleasure for me and I enjoy it like the first 4 Raving Rabbids games, Nudist Colony of the Dead and Scary Movie 1 & 3, something stupid to turn my brain off and laugh at it unironically.

Pelcogo it’s like Robot Chicken, but more childish. Both shows have lots of pop cultural references and some of the skits are parodies of popular tv shows, Video Games, movies and many more. But Robot Chicken was more successful, Darker, Funnier and messed up, with MAD it’s the exact opposite, it wasn’t successful, it’s childish, gross, cringe worthy and is like food fight, the animation can be ugly and sometimes good (mostly bad), funny and mostly bad jokes, pop cultural references (Ex: Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Smash Bros, Disney, Looney Tunes, Etc.) MAD could come on the air again, but sounds like a mostly unlikely.

Most of the skits that were funny were for Generation Z, though, as their childhoods were influenced by cartoons by Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney, as well as viral videos on KZread and strange global events. They all had an impact on probably all of these youths at the time. A lot of the content they watch or read, however, was based on humor. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has no moral lesson, situations get worse and worse because of Greg Heffley's bad behavior. That's an example of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" style humor at it's best in a book made for kids (simply because they are assholes, like Greg, which is why the series is so successful). MAD is one of the examples of weird humor in entertainment, alongside iCarly on Nickelodeon, and asdfmovie. by tomska on KZread. They all had a benefit on modern meme culture today. We have gotten to the point of making all the jokes laughable because of logical deviation, similar to Monty Python-style humor, satirizing the bass-boosted mics on videos, overreactions by streamers and KZreadrs to make the content as entertaining as possible, penis music (or in other words, bad music), Meme Man and stonks, spinning office chairs, the new rickroll (Mundial Ronaldinho Soccer 64), the Sailor Moon redraw and 3 AM challenges, Xue Hua Piao Piao (the snow falls), and the letter E. So, it's no wonder. Older generations never grew with this weirdness made by Generation Z. That is why they are confused.

You're correct in that all assets and animation were created for a single use, and our deadlines were TIGHT. At the time I lamented not being able to do more ambitious higher quality animation, but overall, working on the show was a great experience. Kevin Shinick is the most kind and friendly show creator I've ever worked for. Animating Sergio's margin doodles and the Spy vs Spys before they went to stop motion were the most fun assignments. Man, I got some serious early 2010's nostalgia from this one. This show was hit or miss but I have a soft spot for it. I predict this show hitting it big online once 2010's nostalgia becomes the hot thing. The funny thing about the credit crunch is that they made it fun one of it, someone says something to the affect of "Nothing sad happens in the credits, except for their crunched which is sad for the creators but fine for everyone else". On a random side note, the show was pushed from it's Monday slot to another day, which they made fun...in the first episode after it got the Monday slot back. Whoops, lol.

I may be the only person here who loves this show, but like, or reply to, this comment if I'm wrong. It may not have had the substance or structure that Cartoon Network's other shows from around the time it was on the air had, but it was still a very funny cartoon, and it got me introduced to the magazine, which I got a subscription to the year after I started watching the show. My parents ended up throwing away most of them while I was in school during the first few years of my subscription, though, because they didn't want my brain to be warped by its most vulgar moments. In my opinion, MAD along with Sym-Bionic Titan and The Looney Tunes Show from 2011 are the most underrated Cartoon Network shows of the 2010's. Most of my friends told me that the reason why the show was cancelled was because the network aired it too much, causing viewers to loose interest in it.

"I'm not tuning in to see the winner of Spy vs Spy, or hear what funny breaking News the anchor's going to interrupt this program with." I am the complete opposite. I never understood the references MAD made, and instead watched for their silly, cartoony recurring skits. Spy vs Spy was my favorite because of gratuitous cartoon violence. Same reason I liked Tom and Jerry. I'd always be looking for that one episode I didn't watch when it premiered just so I could see the new editions of the same bits. It only made me more excited when the animation and humor began to improve as the seasons went on.

Sam Shackleford Frep I personally didn’t know what he and the next generation were even talking about 😒 The show was never meant to be focused on. The show was just a series of ads for the magazine’s and comics. They would’ve know that if they actually considered reading the damned books but no they’re so basic. Then wanted to complain and get MAD shut down even though they were and are always the problem. Leave it to the degenerates of our millennial generation and the basic ass kids of the recent generation to not know what tf they want out of entertainment ever.

I remember watching this show when I was around 8 or 9- and I thought it was the funniest thing. Our parents would leave for work during the summer and we would turn this on and watch it. Despite all the references I didn’t get, I still loved the show! It felt like more of a ‘teenage show’, and I did feel like it wasn’t supposed to be watched. Now I think part of the appeal for the older references is when parents sit and watch tv with their kids- It’s supposed to be at least a little enjoyable for everyone and I love that. I never tuned in for the last episode of spy vs spy because they took it off netflix 😔
