Although I always watch your vlogs so knew about the steam fair, we only attended our first carters fair at Croxley green this year. (Due to being miles away from the locations they go to). I’m an enthusiast and been to quite a few places and I can honestly say the magic and atmosphere was second to none and beat any fair or theme park hands down in my opinion. We did a 140 mile round trip on Saturday evening and again, what an atmosphere and the place was packed out. I’m gutted this is it and really hope something good happens with all of this. Them rides are too good to be left in storage. Never ever have we come away from a fair buzzing like we did at Carters. All the best to Joby and his family and thanks for the memories we now have.

Wow bet that was amazing, I was stood in the car park and heard the noise, so I ran back over and was told to go on the Skid for one last ride

If Carter’s never comes back I’m never gonna perfect my skidding 😢

So sad to see an era coming to an end, I've only ridden on the Lightning Skid once - this year in Hemel Hempstead, flew there from Poland only to see the fair before it's gone, the ride was AWESOME! I really hope they will find a permanent location and we, funfair enthusiasts will be able to enjoy those awesome rides. Looking forward for the full vlog to see this beautiful fair again

I remember hearing the "Scream if you wanna go faster!" From my house when carters came around my way sad to see them go almost 10 months on

I'm so sad to see this, I wanted to take my kids to ride The Skid as my husband proposed on the ride in 2006!

Hi Andy Sad end of an era a great classic ride in wonderful restored condition, you know how I love the Skid and yes I managed to ride it back in July on my Birthday at Lichfield Park! Love the skid at Carter's - my favourite night ride in the uk that isn't a coaster - it's great with all the lights and atmosphere 😀 it needs to be relocated 🤔

same here mate, was a bit surreal and quite emotional as the last time, great idea for a final staff ride on the Skid, great idea from Wayne, hope this video goes viral as it should, lol. Even more so, given its the last time I'll do a Skid pull down with Haribo and the other lads

So I'm confused are they doing away with skid? I don't understand sorry you said last ever ride but does that mean for the year, or forever. We have nothing like this here, never even heard of a steam fair till I saw ur videos, so it even more confusing for me lol. I hope you feel better.

The fair is on its final tour. It’s a traditional fair and full operated on steam

They are not touring the whole fair now and it's being stored hopefully pending possible permanent indoor site or maybe sold on as a complete package or in parts

Carters Steam Fair has come to an end as in traveling form anyway as it’s up for sale (the whole fair that is) do this was the last EVER ride

@@Coaster_Crazy that's sad😔 but glad you got to enjoy one last ride. There doesn't seem to be many steam fairs. So in a way it feel like when a theme park goes ghost town. Like the rides are still there, but the park has been out of use and grown up. Hopefully they find a good place to put these rides so people can enjoy them year round.
