CART Fury Championship Racing Arcade

Rather than a being a true simulation, CART Fury Championship Racing is an arcade racer, with traits like spectacular crashes, spinouts, speed-draining slides, and tailgating. It includes road courses, street courses and oval tracks.
Three skill levels (Easy, Medium, and Hard) allow players of all ability levels to compete on equal terms against the AI-controlled opponents.
The game features 12 racing tracks with a Season Mode (Career Mode),every race give you points based on how you finish them,the goal is to have more points that your rivals.
The last game mode is "Simulation" that requires to win every race in first place and the car is much more harder to control.
During the race, you have access to "POWER BOOST," a nitro-inspired speed accelerator that deplenishes as you use it. Every lap, it's replenished.
If you beat a certain time per lap, you are bestowed "SUPER BOOST" which is like power boost only much better and more dramatic.
You can enter codes after inserting coins, but before hitting the start button, by tapping the three view buttons. The codes show up on the digital speedometer. You can toggle fog, gravity, big head mode, etc.
There are hidden shortcuts on pretty much every track - they are denoted with red and white barrels barring their entrance. The shortcuts offer a edge in lap time, but overall do not unbalance the game.
The arcade cabinet can be linked up to 4 players.

I just found one of these in the wild at the Red Roof Inn in South Deerfield, MA. 7/6/2023.
CART Fury Championship Racing, also known as simply CART Fury, is a 2000 open wheel-themed racing video game developed and published by Midway Games based on Championship Auto Racing Teams,it runs on Midway Vegas Hardware. Some of its famous drivers like Juan Pablo Montoya, Michael Andretti and Christian Fittipaldi are included in the game. The game features the voice of Danny Sullivan. it has an original soundtrack composed by Dan Forden.

I really wanted to see The Grid with a same development by Midway.
We really need more racers like this, this was furious fun!

Tony Kanaan's 1999 CART machine had yellow instead of white and McDonald's sponsorship.

You can find screenshots online showing a yellow-striped version of the car in-game which looked more like the real-life scheme. It's strange that they went to such lengths to remove any reference to McDonald's on Tony's car when there are literally McDonald's billboards in the game at Laguna Seca. The only thing I can figure is Tony Kanaan was no longer a paid spokesperson for McDonald's by the time this game came out in 2000, and for some reason that wasn't an issue for Bryan Herta and the late Gil de Ferran who also left their respective teams/sponsors at the end of the season this game is based on.

What I find a bit strange about this original version vs the PS2 port is that the gearbox only has 4 gears in this, whereas the PS2 version has 6 like the real cars had

What's the CPU you have to run this game at fullspeed ?

@@oscarestivencarabalyherrer1279 there was a lot of overlap back then but CART/USAC was still pretty distinct from F1. And today the successor to USAC/CART which is the IRL is even more removed from F1

@@oscarestivencarabalyherrer1279 FIA only ever sanctioned the Indy 500 and very briefly. The IRL sanctions the Indy 500 and all other races on the Indycar schedule

Midway Vegas. Same as War, Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy and NBA Showtime.
PS2 version had licensed musics, like Nullset Speechless
