The hostage incident Paul Page refers to a number of times that eventually makes us miss the finish was the hijacking of TWA flight 847. A year later a Chuck Norris flick (somewhat loosely) based on that story came out. It was called The Delta Force, and, well...if you’re watching races of this era you probably see where I’m going with this.

What a cluster this race was....course workers didn't bother to help anyone, seemed to have no idea what to do. Chaotic crazy race every year. Perfectly Jersey lol...

At 1:17:00 or so, it was said that Penske was going to protest that Al Jr.'s crew took something off of his car. Neither Paul Page nor Bobby Unser said anything about the fact that a CART official took the piece off. Al's crew didn't do anything at all, besides give the legal, routine service to Al's car.

Love the look of indycar's of this time, like fighter jets. Modern cars, including F1 look rubbish now.

President Ronald Reagan explained to the terrorist that were holding hostage's in the Middle East that he was not Jimmy Carter. The hostage's were promptly released! 💪😠👉🇺🇸

@@de-fault_de-fault The Iranian hostage crisis of 1979 ended 5yrs earlier, that's true, but the hostage situation that the TV race announcer was referring to were the 39 American hostages being held in Lebanon. These terrorists bastards are what I was referring to, "But Ok" smart guy 🤨
