The original was about 20 years ahead of its time. I used to have fun launching missiles from the ship at my own vehicles on the island, and then watching the missile from the vehicle's point of view. Even the design of the GUI was brilliant, fitting so much information into 320x200. I hope the new one will be good but it has a lot to live up to

Man I still have RollerCoaster Tycoon and Worms Armageddon boxes lying around at home. RCT along with Fallout 1 & 2 are my most favourite games ever.

Bohemia Interactive made a passable remake as well. The issue is that its lack of multiplayer kind of rendered it DOA. If you judge it by the original game though, it's quite nice adaptation. This looks like it has promise as well, and I am excited to see where it goes from here!

I spent many an hour playing this on the Amiga. The graphics weren't much but the idea of the game kept me playing. It's sort of amazing 30 years later to see that idea get a proper game to support it. Not that the original game was bad mind you, just not as great as the idea of the game I think. I think games like Homeworld and Deserts of Kharak carried on the robotic carrier concept and fascinated me for similar reasons.

I got F19 Stealth Fighter on pirate, with a 'digital' manual. Loaded up the dot matrix printer with fanfold, set it to print, went to school. When I got back, the f*****g thing was still printing....

Not gonna lie. It's been a really long time since i've been this excited over a trailer.

I was crying for excitement to see a legendary game rise from the ashes.

What? I've owned every good MicroProse game, and I've never heard of this game.

Microprose is back with games where gameplay is the main focus, unlike the mainstream games with a few exceptions.

Amiga 500 days, The good old days of gaming! Maybe they can re do Gunship and Stealth Fighter as well. ;)

Make VR optional instead of compulsory as not everyone prefers VR. Bad for eyes.

I feel like this publisher was revived just for me, I'm only really looking forward to about 3 games this year, and to my surprise they're all being published by MicroProse. Can't wait for this game, or Sea Power, or Tiny Combat Arena!

I never played the original. Nor was I even born when it came out. But man do I need this game, this looks PERFECT for me.

I've always been interested in running a carrier. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Those HUD gun funnels are invoking memories of Falcon 3.0

I never heard of Carrier Command but I really like the art and design. It reminds me of Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

I can't wait for this. Looks like a lot of fun. Love that has singleplayer, pvp and most importantly coop

While the graphics in BIS' remake were really quite good, I think you guys are on the better path here. Gameplay trumps graphics. As long as the explosions and sound are satisfying, I couldn't care less about whether it's pixel style or not. And this looks like it does have a bunch more gameplay systems than Bohemia's game. Last but not least: Multiplayer. YES. And Coop too. This is what killed Gaea Mission, and I'm SO GLAD that you guys decided to start out with multiplayer. Multi-station multiplayer coop gameplay is tickling me at exactly the right spots :)

Holy shit, microprose is alive? Can we expect some nice helicopter and tank simulators?

MicroProse, possibly the best game producer nowadays.

Just saw a video about the game. Wishlisted! Cannot wait for it.

Keeping an eye on this. Played the original back in the day, loved Hostile Waters, which was a similar concept, and despite the terrible AI pathing, I even enjoyed the Carrier Command remake. Fair to say, I'm ready for another crack at the concept.

So many hours clicked off with M1, Silent Service, F117 and the rest Gunship. The game need a huge historical manual and keyboard layout!. Great to see you back.

Very excited about this, I loved the Amiga version and always wanted it to be taken further. Thoughts on the video: Not too sure about that floating stuff on the sea, I thought they were sand bars at first. This may not be a Triple A title, but that's a hell of a lot of Triple A. :-) I think we may need tooltips - The original game's UI was to die for, please keep the spirit of elegance and function.

I played the original to death back in the days of yore, and always dreamed of getting my hands on a updated version. I cannot wait for this to go live. It needs a chubby card box with a manual as thick as a Haynes user guide...

Yeah this hits the spot. Systems based design, emergent game play, retro aesthetics. It takes Microprose to show there's more to gaming than Battleduty 69: Revengerance Action Adventure. Glad you're back, you have been missed.

Oh my !!!!!! I stumbled on this by pure fluke. I've never been happier for a sequel! (Gaia mission pffft!) This needs to happen!

i still have the 1st carrier command on the amiga and i also have the xbox 360 version. now i`ve got my gaming pc i'll be waiting for this game to come out.

This is on Steam's *VR* section of Next Fest, yet I see no details about VR in any trailer or the store page. Did Valve put this game in the wrong category or is there VR support?

Gawd knows how many Microprose games ive played in me young days....even glimpsed their giant dude CEO at a computer show once.....I played it on the Spectrum....played it on the Amiga....then i played Hostile Waters....been waiting for this a long time..............Now do Terranova please....please to the nth power.......... a new well done Terranova would slay........ the tech is here to implement it properly..........I am so UP for this.........

How about remaking a new silent service game? Or doing a game like K240 from amiga...I loved that one...I'm sure the copyrights/trademarks have long since expired.

So, 1988... it was lower key with less AAA, and less units - but it was an awesome game. You had first person vehicle action, logistics and a proper island campaign strategy, wrapped in a beautiful and elegant UI. Some people complained about the traveling time between islands, but that was when I took care of my admin and made my decisons on the map etc. If you liked Thunderbirds (sixties version!!!) but Brains was persuaded to design a task force, that would be quite close. :-)

after 8 years finally a new carrier command. not gonna lie. initial thoughts when i saw the trailer was that it looked like the graphics got a bit of a downgrade. but seeing a shot of the bridge and designs of some of the vehicles i'm optimistic that we may see improved gameplay. shame the old CC keeps chrashing at startup right now. only time will tell to see how this game will be
