Astralwurksdk the v10 was supposed to be developed for the Footwork Porsche F1 car but was put aside

It was an engine designed for Le Man. Restrictions came into place deeming the engine illegall for racing. So they decided to put it into a road legal car.

Save your self some time and skip to 2:45 where the pull actually starts. I have never heard an engine sing like this. Wow.

I came back in 2024 just to hear it again. This came out when I was in high school and I’m almost 30 now!

548whp from 5.7 liters. Nearly 20 years later and it's still massively impressive. Those are numbers a heads/cam/intake/exhaust c8 corvette would be proud of, and it has 0.5L more!

These cars are so impressive on the track. They're awesome for winding country roads. The way they handle around corners and hug the road is unparalleled.

I remember using this car in the video game and it was definitely my favorite car. Seeing this vid brought back some memories.

Seems like it's making a bit more than 604 hp at the crank then ;) Love it.

Sounds about right actually. I would expect a car like this to have around 10% parasitic loss, which would put it at 544rwhp.

What? The CGT sounds MUCH closer to an F1 car than an LFA. While the LFA does sound good, the CGT sounds a bit better in my opinion.

@RuiGr Agreed, the CGT is the best sounding production car to date. As much as I love twin turbo'd exotics, the CGT is best left untouched IMO

@94GOOGLE94 Most cars are rated for brake horsepower at the flywheel. RWHP is "rear wheel horsepower" meaning that's how much power is actually hitting the ground which is typically 20% lower than the flywheel horsepower due to the drivetrain.

@anjoLas The radiator is what cools it and that is in the front where all of the air flow is while you driving.

@Wargasmiccaa usually with rear engine cars the radiator and fans are still up front somewhere, or on the sides of the car, they are designed to have air flowing in from the front no matter what so the fan in the front of the car is just simulating that.

this machine is measuring power at the wheels, which is different then power at the crank (which is what car companies list when stating hp)

I'm not a Porsche maniac, but for me this Carrera Gt has the best sound of all cars ever made. It will make ears bleed and put a smile owner's face without any upgrades. It's perfect as it is.

It is because the engine used in the cgt was initially designed for to be use in an F1...

@94GOOGLE94 Hp is how much power the engine makes at the flywheel and whp is the power that makes it to wheels which is 15-20% less normally

@KooolaBe Yeah, I noticed that after I had posted, sorry. I'm no professional, but it might be because the engine is in the back so the front doesn't need cooling? Just my guess.

They come with 612 at the motor, but at the wheels friction and that shit takes some power away :(
