I think the ring is best but used with a fairly thick braid so it springs back easy and will stay in place

Everyone has there own opinions on rig Mechanics... it’s a personal thing... if you have confidence in a ring... use a ring .... I can see ads/dis ads with both.

If the piece of shrink tube has been shrunk onto the shank of the hook, u can't tell if the carp has mugged u off cos the shrink tube can't move? This isn't a blow back rig

What if you add little bit of putty at the end of coated part, right before peeled part starts?

what hook are you using out of interest

Ok, but once you "pin the hair to the hook shank" does't that remove the blowback mechanics that allows the boilie and hair to be blown without taking the hook out with them?

Which then makes it a fixed-hair rig, not a blowback at all?

Brian Sherwood it still works as a blowback but doesn’t reset itself so you can’t just leave it out

Yeh this is the anti blow back rig surely

This would have been a good video if you’d shown a close up of the finished product

When a carp sucks the bait in the ring resets and gos to the end of the bend or were ever you have it so don't understand his logic about resetting as that's the whole point of the ring so it has the freedom of movment

How many 40's have you had in a season? Think his results speak for themselves.

Darryl Clarkson Experience doesn’t define the procedure of mechanics someone is explaining..... investigation of the mechanical procedure will determine this... If someone wins a race and claims he went 100 mph and someone said that can’t be possible because of your time to finish the track distant , and someone said how many races have you won I think his experience speaks for himself, that still doesn’t give a solution just a bitchy and useless reply, instead you would say let’s look at the speed dial to see what the top speed reached throughout was or make a calculation based upon the variables.

stevesracingbits i agree plus it isn’t even a blowback rig it’s a hair rig using a supple material for increased movement
