Carpet lining my Vauxhall Vivaro Campervan self-build

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This week I show the transformation of my Vauxhall Vivaro campervan as I work on the carpet lining. As a self-build process, it's been challenging work, but super rewarding too.

    @@jamieoutdoors Ok. Why, was that going to be too difficult for you to do? What did they put up to cover the insulation?

    @@rafaemma so I didn’t have enough time to do the electrics myself or mainly I didn’t have time to do the research. So I made a decision to just pay for someone to do it and at the same time got them to make me a ply kit to carpet line and put up. I think the ply kit with the carpet lining would actually be really easy to do yourself as it just screws into the top of the van. But, as I work full time and work another part time role I figured I wouldn’t have time to also put energy into this too.

    Thank you! The ply only ended up being 5mm thick as it needed to bend ever so slightly

    Good job on this one pal 👌 i did my combo van last year and its not as easy as it looks 🤣 how is the van holding out for you? Am looking to get a new van. It will be this or a old transit. Have you had any problems with this van yet and how many miles you got on it. Kind regards Bill kinsey

    I bought it with 140,000 miles and so far the only big issue I’ve had is to change part of the brakes and other things like tyres etc. nothing big gone wrong and it’s not on 150,000. I’ve been very impressed with it. I’ve got the 2l version. So it packs a punch and average about 38mpg in it. The transit I’m aware does way worse for mpg. But I could be wrong. And yes it wasn’t as easy as I hoped. I’m currently struggling through the electrics.

    Surprisingly little time. It’s probably taken a week of work tops. Could’ve been shorter if everything had arrived on time

    Hi how did you finish near the sliding door where the ply stands away from the door rubber seal

  • @jamieoutdoors

    @jamieoutdoors

    Жыл бұрын

    Great question. I took off all the rubber seals. Then I ran the carpet lining up to the edge and cut off the excess. Then put the rubber seals back on and took care to make sure the carpet lining fitted underneath
