Her brother Richard used a choir in this song because it was completed after she had passed away. A lot of tracks were just "work" tracks, so not fully completed. Her voice is so hauntingly beautiful and I wish she had found a true, loving man and had kids like she wanted. She is still dearly missed. Still hoping you react to Karen drumming. She had such joy when she was behind those drums.

She actually recorded this for her solo album that was not ever fully released. Richard took that recording and remixed it her version was shelved until 1996, with the release of her eponymous album, Karen Carpenter. Karen's solo version is far more subdued with only a piano, bass and drums as her accompaniment (have never been able to find who they were). kzread.info/dash/bejne/hn2HqLSSe5yyfrQ.html It was a completed trac ready for release as I said it was released in 1996. I much prefer her version. Richards version had Karen Carpenter from her single, Richard Carpenter - keyboards, Joe Osborn - bass guitar, Ron Tutt - drums, Tony Peluso - electric guitar, Tim May - acoustic guitar, Jay Dee Maness - pedal steel guitar, Sheridon Stokes - flute. Earle Dumler - oboe, The O.K. Chorale - backing vocals. What Vinton sang as the first verse she sang as the second verse and his second verse was her first verse.
Karen had a voice that truly was a gift from God. She was the kind of performer that no matter what you were doing you just had too stop and listen as soon as she started singing. She was taken way too early.
One of the Greatest voices in music history.
I was very very lucky to obtain her autograph many years ago. She signed an LP record sleeve of one of her earliest albums and underneath her name added a heart crossed with an arrow and two xx kisses along side it. I'm 68 now and it remains one of my most cherished possessions.
As soon as I hear Karen Carpenter's voice, gives me goose-bumps, just so deep and mellow , no one else has had a voice like that. A nice melody to this song. I love her version of This Masquerade-Colin Ward
this song is so underrated....love it!
The album Voice from the heart and the song were released in 1983, not long after Karen's passing. Bittersweet 💔
Her voice transcends time, space and emotions!
Such an angelic voice. She left this world way to early.
Simply the best female vocalist of all time!!
Love the Carpenters and this beautiful song that I'm so glad you finally reacted to.....this is pure Karen style of music and lyrics.... great reaction Angela... love how you love The Carpenters and appreciate their musical talents...... thank you so much !!!
What you did in the past allows you to learn for the future
Yeah...her voice. I just cry every time I hear her...can't help it.
"Where Do I Go From Here" is haunting and beautiful. I highly recommend it.
So sad this extremely beautiful woman with such an ANGELIC voice never found the true love she so desperately sought and so richly deserved. RIP KAREN! MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU! Was fortunate to grow up with THAT VOICE! Nice reaction. Thanks for not PAUSING and interrupting the flow.
Thank you for reacting to this Carpenters song. This is one of the many, many songs by the Carpenters that I certainly enjoy. Karen's voice.
I'm not ashamed to say Karen's voice brings me to tears not only a superb tone of voice but a fragile heart I hope she know knew she was truly loved simply magical.
So glad she makes you smile, I always tear up. Miss her so much.
Has Country vibes, listening to Caren's majestic voice is always a joy!
My mom loves the Carpenters. ❤❤ Grew up listening to them.
Her song "I believe you will make you smile and full of joy. It's a song that surprises you.......and reminds you of that moment in your life...
There is nothing, nothing like, “that voice.” I was fortunate and saw them live. No other voice, now, or before, is as perfect and pure as Karen Carpenter. Listen to , Kiss Me The Way You Did Last Night. It’s my fave Carpenters song. And, that voice…..!!!!!
Next up.......Where Do I Go From Here? A sometimes overlooked Carpenter's song.

I love nearly all of their songs but that one always makes me cry. Doesn’t matter how many times I hear it, it never fails. But I still love it regardless of what it does to me.
Beautiful voice. Yes. If only we could leave the hurt behind. You’re so right.
The ultimate vocalist (not just a singer) who sang to us the listener not at us and who was thee master storyteller knowing her voice and her interpretations of the lyrics was her "job" to give to us the listener, and not about just her...
Beautiful selection Angela. Even though she recorded this relatively close to the end of her life. Her voice was better than perfect. She defined perfection. I hope you choose to select her original Ticket To Ride. Their first "successful" release. When she initially brought her voice to the public it was one of a kind. We are so lucky that we are able to listen to her songs. What a gift she has left to humanity.
Every time I listen to Karen Carpenter sing my heart skips a beat..I actually sat and closed my eyes and just listened to the GOAT female singers..Karen could sing the phone directory and it would be worth listening to. Wonderfully sad and uplifting lyrics..we've all been on this position and wanted to start over with a clean slate..the really sad part is that I think this was released after her death ...oh god just think of all the music we've missed out on.. but I can understand why God wanted her in his choir..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏🎶🎵🇺🇸

@@michaelasay8587 yes her mother was a nasty cruel bitch who favoured Richard who in her eyes could do no wrong..yet with Karen no matter what she did or how successful she was .. she never got credit for anything just nagging to get married.
I love your entire Carpenters’ playlist! You’re a joy! (and Karen was the best!!!)
love ur comments, Angela. "Her voice" will truly live on forever.
I don’t remember this song but it was beautiful, thank you for sharing this request
perfectly beautiful voice.
" Her Voice " ...... Thanks for doing the Carpenters again. An emotional album because it was released right after her death. She was just an angel on loan from heaven.
I was just a teen when she passed. I had a huge crush on her and was heartbroken when we lost her 💔
ANGELA THIS WOMAN KAREN CARPENTER HAS THE BEST VOICE OF ANY WOMAN OUT THERE SHE BRINGS TEARS TO YOUR EYES JUST LOVELY
Beautiful song. Loved your reaction Angela❤
Being a huge Carpenters fans I always love your reactions to any of their songs. But I loved this one particularly for the smile it put on your face, as this is a one of theirs that always does that to me. Karen just knew how to emote a song and tell the story, whether that’s a tale of love gone right, or love going wrong. I love the material on ‘Voice From The Heart’, I don’t understand how some songs where cut from their specific album sessions, and the new material (as brief as it was) showed that Karen’s voice was ageing like a fine wine.
What beautiful voice!!
I laughed when you said, “I have to get into a serious mood” before starting the song. We all know just 4 notes of Karen will put you in whatever mood she wants. 😉
The greatest singer ever ❤
She is an Angel and sings like it too.
Karen A Star On Earth A Star In Heaven 1950_ 1983 ❤💔
I love anything this lady sang.
Hi Angela! Thanks for bringing Karen’s voice back, it’s been too long. Love seeing you emotional with Carpenters. ❤️ If I may request an obscure Carpenters song for your reaction. It was performed live on The Tonight Show in 1973. It features Karen on drums and this is a song she drummed on the album track. The song is Mr. Guder, written by Richard and John Bettis. There is a short interview segment where Richard explains the genesis of the song. Someone in the comments mentioned you haven’t reacted to Karen drumming. I hope you use this video, even though the quality isn’t great, it’s an awesome example. My heart soars seeing her smile when she’s having so much fun. This is not a downbeat song! kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4RqpZiMYpXQYJM.html
Hi Angela: I appreciate your reactions; and especially your appreciation with the Carpenters, and Karen. I hope you would also react to one of their less known songs called “A PLACE TO HIDEAWAY” - The video where Karen is there singing with Richard in the background on the keyboard. It really shows her mannerisms while singing the song. ❤
For me, this song has such a powerful message. It is about to long time lovers, maybe an old married couple, and the magic has gone. But she sings plaintively, "make believe it is your first time" and the hope is maybe we can recapture the magic. Poinant. Haunting. Sad. And oh so beautiful made more so by Karen's angelic voice.

I know I may be old I'm 61 I did not know who was singing or not singing because we didn't have videos but I'll tell you something music has no colour and this is beautiful love your reaction and keep on striving for the truth❤
HER VOICE!
Beautiful song
Actually the song was 9ntended for a teenage female singer and was supposed to refer to making a phone call, but when the adult Anita w=Ward recorded it the meaning was interpreted as more sexual. Ward was working as a teacher (I believe) at the time when this opportunity came around and was a self-proclaimed "churchgoing woman" who wasn't all that thrilled with the new, disco-fied interpretation of the song. But she recorded it anyway and it went to #1, making Ward one of our most notable One Hit Wonder recording artists.
Hi Ms. D., Not sure I know how to put my thoughts on 'paper'.. Ms. Karen's voice so pure & honest it made the ole man cry.. Her voice is so Good and she does not have to resort to most people's trick of singing strong or loud or in your face.. What a voice and what a loss.. R.I.P. Ms. Karen.. ♠W.G.
Please check out “Ordinary Fool”. It’s possibly Karen’s most delicate and beautiful performance. Every syllable she utters is purposeful and emotive. Thanks!
If this song came oUT in 1983 that's the year she passed away.
Ordinary fool, it’s the end of the world, crystal lullaby, little altar boy are the best songs
Great song.
She recorded this song for her solo album between 1879-1980 and that version is very bare and intimate. Then the Record company would not release it but Richard liked the song so she re-recorded her vocals which ended up on the 1983 Voice of the Heart album.....kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJd90pKmh8StgMY.html
Her best song is I'm Caught Between Goodbye and I love you

One of my favorites! Angela please listen to “Look To Your Dreams” please 😊
Angela...i think you feel the sadness because shes not here anymore. Get this ..i was at a party wjen the news came on that she doed. Everybody cried and the oarty ended!!
Angela, i keep hoping youll cry...with me.
Please react to her song "I believe you"
Angela, you already did this, no?? Omg Angela theres so much to do by her.... please! I know sjes yr fav!
A lot of the songs she sang were sad, but I always felt better after listening to them. Richard could take a mediocre song and make it fantastic she had the ability of taking possession of the lyrics and giving them life. If you do not believe me listen to "Close to You" by the first to sing it Richard Chamberlain (1963 I have never been able to listen to it straight through, but you can try) Then listen to the Burt Bacharach arrangement sung by Dionne Warwick. (1963 it is a little better than Chamberlain's version but not much). Then Dusty Springfield version (1965 better yet but still not good). Then the Carpenters version (1970). You will then realize what made the Carpenters so good. It was Karen's voice and Richard's arrangements. I was intoxicated by them before they were signed with A&M (1966 or 67) and still am. Try "Reason to Believe" This version was done on the 5th Dimension Traveling Sunshine TV special in 1971.not many have reacted to it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYiLx6qefZnTiqw.html
you should really listen to Ordinary Fool Karen's sultry voice and Richards's great arrangement with a sax
Please!!!!!!react I HAVE YOU by Karen...it's a beautiful song of hers...
Her Mother was at fault. If i was older, I would have spoken up.
What *I* think is you have an AMAZING voice. I'd LOVE to record "Superstar" with you. HMU
Try “I Believe “ by Karen.
This album was made up of songs that were not good enough or unfinished songs, that's ok though,it's nice to hear the voice of a angel.
This is exact reason why anyone over 40 thinks that most of today's music is of low caliber and not very good compared to many singers of days gone by
