After being fantastic hosts for so long, it is truly astounding that they were not given a sendoff or a chance to say an on-air good bye. Horrible of QVC to do this.

If you ask me, I think its typical of QVC to give the hosts a bums rush without an explanation. Remember Jackie Gonzales? She left QVC without as much as a whisper. I believe Lisa Robertson ( whom I adored ) saw the direction QVC was headed and got the Hell Out Dodge. QVC for several years has been under the direction of morons.

So Carolyn was my favorite host…she was real…funny…sincere….and especially when she had flowers and plants to sell. I sent back the things I purchased just before they let her go….my friends did so too. She WAS Denim and Co…..won’t be shopping at qvc any longer….we get much better deals at Kohls….with 30% off…even on sale and clearance items. And no shipping and handling. I think they will see they will lose much more than they did the last quarter…The company kept the younger ones who made less salary….but there are quite a few buffoons that can be let go also….sad.😢 ❤Carolyn…I wish I lived closer…I’d help you with your animals!! I agree look what happened to Antonella nester lost her home then got cancer. Now she has to live on a boat but God seen what has happened. He blessed her with good health and she has a good job people saw her good friendly spirit and good selling abilities QVC let her go also QVC almost caused me to end up in divorce I don't shop there I quit that addictive channel they are over priced wish I never got involved with them

That is only part of I think. There are two hosts that come to mind, Rosina Grosso and Steve Doss who is like a male version of Jane Treacy. Over the top obnoxious. Rosina just can’t deliver a smooth product delivery. I have seen her many times with any different products and she never seems comfortable presenting anything. Another part of the QVC change is like all corporate norms is equity and it has come to the forefront of hiring regardless of ability all at the expense of those that have been there and loved for years. Yes they are hiring based on equity and not necessarily ability in “some” cases. My favorites that are left are Jane Brown and Pat Dementri. And I miss them together. I’m sure Pat is upset being she and Dan Hughes have been best friends and hosts together for a very long time and thinking am I next? Blame it on whoever the new powers that be are that make these decisions and equity.

Sadly, it's about which hosts sell the most, e.g. how are sales numbers when these hosts are on-air. I think it's really crappy of QVC to fire these beloved hosts, and I don't like it -- and at the same time, it is a business where profit rules.

I agree. I think they should both sue over age discrimination! Their target market are older people and we love the older hosts. Young people aren’t buying from a tv platform and I highly doubt they have the QVC app. This was not well thought out in my opinion!

You both are going to be missed. I can't believe QVC did not even give you both a chance to say goodbye to everyone who followed you on the air. Dan & Carolyn you both gave many years and were my favorite hosts. I am appalled how QVC handled this.

He's the closest Home Shopping Channel host I've ever seen , who would make a great used car salesman. They use him to either "open" or "close" all those TSV's with his hyperactive, overzealous, animated, misleadingly persuasive talents...and David will only leave when he so chooses. He "owns" his very specific "foodie niche". The rest are old-timers with, I'm certain, large contracts. The most expendable will be next, to be replaced by one of the more inexpensive " newbies"...

Susan graver oversells her stuff always bragging her clothes were in a place called world of clothing in NC. They weren't selling there. That co closed last year her items ended up in good will she is overpriced big time

I too, am extremely disappointed to find out that Dan and Carolyn have been terminated from QVC. They were both warm, fun and very professional hosts. Dan, always smiling, was so good at getting me to purchase tools and gadgets that I never knew I needed, but did. Carolyn, so cute, down to earth and relatable, presenting clothes and all things gardening. I watched and shopped her Tuesday Denim & Co. show every week. This is a true game changer for me! I cannot support a corporation that doesn’t appreciate and value two such dedicated and popular hosts. I read QVC’s $$ were extremely poor in 2022. With decisions like, this their 2023 $$’s are going to be much worse.

Oh my goodness.... I am in shock about this.... such a disrespectful way to treat the loyal, no-nonsense, common-sense MATURE host, who are like family members to us loyal home shopping customers..... unbelievable 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲

I've been done with both QVC & HSN (same company, BTW) for a long time. Selling same stuff we can get elsewhere for equal or better prices, and charging high shipping where others don't charge any shipping.

Carolyn was one of the best hosts on QVC she was down to earth like someone you have known for a long time not a put on just down to earth person. I have watched for year's and bought a lot of expensive items but I think I may cut back.

Sad that QVC let over 400 people go. Dan and Carolyn were great hosts. They let them go while keeping the newer hosts, who obviously make less money.

Dan was part time..HSN did the same.

I have seen other companies try to Rebrand their line to a much younger audience or client base. What they fail to realize until it is too late especially for QVC is that their customer base is an older generation. They are alienating their customer base. They are getting rid of the very people in their company that gave them years of great sales. It was the relationship between the host and the customer that made QVC stand out. Now that is gone I expect qvc to be gone before long as well.

Being a long-time QVC viewer, the news of both your, and Dan's, abrupt and unexpected terminations, have been nothing short of unsettling. I always enjoyed your "no nonsense" approach to your sales presentations (you could sell almost ANYTHING...something that more than a FEW of your former colleagues are incapable of doing), and your warm, long-time friendship with Phillip Watson was so evident when you both presented his Cottage Farms collections over the years. They were some of my favorite shows. To say that you will be missed is a huge understatement, but the realization that QVC, along with its' sister station are far from what they used to be, and the difficulties both are/will experience going forward in today's retail and economic climate, should give you some measure of comfort in knowing that you now have so very many choices and paths before you, and scores of loyal fans who will be around to see all the great things that the universe has in store for you (and for Dan, who I have watched since his debut QVC appearance so many years ago). All the very best to both of you...

I like to watch the garden shows, but since Roberta’s is using the younger kids selling the items, it’s not the same. Nothing negative towards them. I would rather have sales people my own age. More relatable.

@@melindaunknown6411 Sad that by incorporating all these new "kids" into theur product rep rotations, QVC believes they are attracting the younger, most sought after, consumer, when, in reality, the younger generation does not sit by the TV for hours, waiting to buy their favorite products. Amazon is " their game", as well as numerous other online sites, and will continue to be, going forward. By removing or replacing both long-time hosts and product reps, they will continue to alienate their long-time, older, valued customers, who will eventually stop watching, and, ultimately, stop purchasing. All of it leading to these Shopping Channels' eventual demise.

You will be so missed. Still can't believe it! The best to you both. Hugs too!

I discovered QVC about 30 years ago while I was laid up with a broken ankle. It was my ‘go to’ shopping place. I became known as The QVC Queen as I made sure everyone always got something from QVC at the holidays. I loved watching Dan on the morning show when he had his dog on the show! And I knew I could depend on Carolyn to share great information about gardening items or Denim and Company. I must admit I don’t watch as much as I used to, but I would look for them on line. Very sad to see them and other experienced hosts leave😢

Heartbreaking to hear that QVC has stooped so low to let these wonderful hosts go. I quit watching many years ago and enjoyed getting to know all of the hosts.

Both such attractive and gracious individuals. I think it was a case of forced retirement. Unfortunate, because they were both an asset to the channel.

I believe that the reasons QVC dropped Dan and Carolyn was for the following two reasons. They are older, and they probably make a lot of money. Let me tell you, QVC made a big mistake. I buy from QVC but I have a limited amount of time I can watch. But, my mom and my grandma have more time. Especially my grandma. They like the older hosts a lot because they can relate to them more. They are so upset about Dan an Carolyn being given the boot they refuse to watch QVC anymore. And believe me, they both bought a lot of stuff from them. I am not watching QVC anymore in solidary of my mom and grandma. Might turn out to be a good thing. We we all save tons of money, and will spend that saved money elsewhere. So long QVC. You know it isn't always about the dollar.

My mom and my grandma have bought a lot of clothes from them. Not me though. I have different kind of tastes from them. I do admit that David has a nice personality. I agree with what you said about electronics. You can get a good deal sometimes. Anyway, we won't be watching anymore.

They did NOT leave on their own - they were let go by QVC, along with 400 other QVC employees..., and HSN, as well, let go two of that network's Hosts, one who was with them for over 20 years, and probably other employees as well.. Sad...

Why did this have to happen. When you find people that love their jobs, you need to keep them.

I loved my job for many years and was one of the loyal older ones there... it happened to me too.

Look, no one wants to be let go. But where is the loyalty? After they let go of the first batch of loyal hosts, they turned around and hired more new ones. That was a slap in the face because they said they let go of them because of covid and less shopping, less money. Now, why not let go of some of the newer hires instead of the OG's. There is no loyalty anywhere anymore. God bless to everyone

PS : I wish Ms Carolyn and Mr. Dan the best. I always loved watching Mr Dan on Sunday mornings and other times. Ms Carolyn with Mr. Gary and gardening especially. I am done with QVC.

QVC is making big mistakes by firing longtime hosts we all enjoy. That being said there is a longtime host I wish they would fire, Jane Treacy! She is obnoxious and fake as you can get. She left QVC years ago and was welcomed back making me think she must have a family member working in corporate. QVC is not doing well. Products particularly clothing is nothing more then what you can buy from Kohl’s or Walmart.

Yes, I said that awhile back. The prices have gone up but quality is lacking. Susa Graver is always bragging about how she was in the pant business but her slacks look cheap. Go to Christopher Banks for good dress slacks, I don’t like this putting two hosts together to sell something. They just talk over each other. So many are annoying. Love Albany, sweet gal. I wonder why we don’t see Louis De’olio (sp), Bob Mackie, very little of the Joan Rivers line?

Janes husband is one of the producers at QVC. That explains alot, she not going anywhere and will be there till the very end. It should be called the Jane Treacy Shopping Network instead of QVC.

They were laid off. It’s disgusting for QVC to have done that to people so well loved by their customers.

I remember when Carolyn was new and I was a fan right away. She became my favorite host. Both of them were always prepared and knowledgeable which builds trust in customers. The newer ones don’t have their same qualities. I don’t think QVC will capture the young shoppers and the younger generations are not brand loyal. I think that QVC has shot itself in the foot with this decision. Their bread and butter are the older generations and their long time viewers - which are now upset and alienated. They no longer offer things you can’t find anywhere else, and their deals are no longer great. Carolyn and Dan were huge assets and this was a very poor business decision. I’m done with QVC. This was the last straw.

I think it’s awful we who have watched qvc for all those years are disappointed and sad. We love them. Besides QVC has become so expemsive

I agree...60.00 for a sweatshirt...really and shipping on top of that. Way outpriced themselves for people who are struggling to feed their families nowdays.

I've left QVC too. I hate companies that do this. Bye bye.

A guy that has worked where I do was given the boot a few weeks ago. He worked here 26 years. No heads up, no severance, no nothing. Told his position was redundant??? In reality, it's obvious companies get rid of the high paying (older) people and bring in fresh faces for less pay. Sadly, nowadays, loyalty means nothing!

This is really disheartening! Dan and Carolyn were great hosts! It seems seniority doesn’t mean much to QVC.

Sad news. Maybe those unhappy with decision will just stop buying from this network. Best way to get a point across.

QVC has not only eliminated these wonderful hosts, they have also lost me as a customer. If this is how you treat dedicated older employees, I will no longer support your company. Shame on you.

True I agree QVC is going down hill. I used to work there same year Dan Hughes started in 1989. I feel for everyone who got let go. It's the companies loss. Don't let this stop you guys from moving forward past qvc. Best to all of you.

I'm an animal loving Hoosier like Carolyn and Dan, I will really miss them and wish them well.

Was a customer of QVC from day one but for years now, I've hardly watched or shopped........quality downhill. There have been hosts let go that I was glad to see leave, others I missed. No matter what, though, the way they were disrespected by being let go after so many years is disgusting. Goodbye QVC......you suck!

It just goes to show that you are loved and valued for the moment, until you’re not. When they are done with you, you are just another ship that passed in the night. Employers could not care less about their employees and that’s across the board. It’s sickening 🙁…

If management is so concerned about money issues, perhaps they need to cut the other two channels and only have the original. To be honest, I am disgusted with the management of QVC. The younger hosts don’t know the products, have poor grammar, and need to stop being cute. Get down to the business of their jobs. Host, not entertain!

Miss you and Dan, to Carolyn I am from NC about 50 miles from Southern Pines. You and Dan were great hosts.

I very much enjoyed watching Carolyn on Tuesdays with her sweet personality and honesty, so disappointing. I am done ordering from QVC.

I have been a QVC shoppers for years! I’m really upset they have let Carolyn and Dan go It will affect my shopping habit. Looks like I’m gonna save a lot of $$$.

Absolutely horrible treatment of these two fine people and wonderful LONG-TERM Hosts...Always enjoyed both Dan & Carolyn's caring and FUN personalities~I am DONE with the "Q":(

In regards to Carolyn and Dan leaving, I will say unreservedly that I am angry! Was this QVC's decision?! QVC became a family to so many people. I'm sorry but so many of the new hosts just do not even measure up. Something is terribly wrong with this picture! Carolyn and Dan are part of the group of hosts that form a community and I question the survival of QVC if they think they can afford to get rid of the icons. I personally am tired of things in this country changing and being dismantled. The quality of these two hosts cannot be replaced by a hundred new ones. And Dan's humor cannot be replaced. I question the wisdom of QVC. I have no interest in purchasing anything from QVC anymore. What a sad situation.

I'm done with QVC! What a disgusting show of disloyalty! Loved them both. They were treated in a cowardly manner.

I can’t believe QVC would let these loved, trusted and experienced hosts go. Yet keeping YOUNGER, less experienced and fake hosts. The quality of QVC has gone down over the years and this pretty much seals the deal for me. I have been a customer since 1988 and I’m done.

I am NEVER watching QVC anymore! She and Gary together were the only ones I ever watched. I don’t like the younger women who have replaced her. She was my gauge on how the clothes might look on me because we were the same size. Now, a month later, I haven’t watched D&Co at all, and none of the other QVC offerings. I have noticed that D&Co seems to be aired a lot more often than it used to be. I wonder why?

Love both of them, they were my two favorites. I’m sure they were both offered very generous packages to make it worth their departure. Good luck to them in their new beginnings. They will be missed.🙁

They just added Selma Blair as their mobility ambassador, so they aren’t hurting too badly.

Did you ever notice how the older more established people are always let go but the pushy fake few remain. Interesting those that have been there a long time must feel very vulnerable. They took the life out of the company when they let many hosts go that were a part of the early days. They knew how to present merchandise with skill and warmth. I do see the end to this company. Not the variety of products they had in the past. Although this economy is horrible for retail. So many stores closing. I wish them the best. They are some of the most genuine people. I hope they find a new place to land!

I am so upset with QVC. Yes they should have given Dan and Carolyn a happy send off on the air. I have a credit there other wise I would not order from them anymore. It really is upsetting as to how they treat their older staff. They just want the younger ones. I do hope you received all the retirement benefits you deserve. Good luck to you both. This is a disgrace. It is also blatant ageism. I am sure they have silenced them with NDA - blackmail of older workers. I am literally going to avoid all purchases I can. In the name of diversity, they have erased people who built the Station. I will not buy one thing of ANY new host going forward. This is clearly discriminatory as they have hired hosts who can barely present . Perhaps for lower salaries?

They were both fantastic hosts!! What a shame!!

I think it’s terrible what QVC did. Loyalty means nothing.

QVC should remember who their customers are and who has the buying power.
