Hi, very informative review of the best coach on the market to date, I was surprised by the price at first then I saw the detail and features in many reviews so that made me realise that it is a real unique product, the price is the price take it or leave it, Revolution could have fitted a stay alive but I guess it’s a cost they didn’t want, I believe this is the only run so these coaches are going to be rare, thanks for sharing.

I asked Revolution to upscale this beauty in O gauge, unfortunately they have no plans to do it, which is a great pity. Lovely model.

Great model indeed ! Nice review 👍 regarding the slight scuff paint mark every single model I buy from abroad or wherever always has one little mark or scrape on it.. it used to really bother me but like you say won’t even notice without closely looking . Stunning layout and brilliant updates as always

Nice review Eric. Great bit of kit although not without its problems, you can argue (& rightly so!) for the high price it should be perfect. I had flickering lights which were sorted with the addition of a “stay alive”. Yes I could have sent it back, but seeing as I could fix the problem relatively easily I did ,…..& am very happy with the coach. Love the NSE livery btw👍 Cheers John b 😎

Cheers, yeah couple little niggles for sure, i agree it should be spot on, but how much effort do you go to, to rectify a fault? Can i really be bothered sending it back? Probably not. Hey ho! Glad you like your one in the end!

The 33 is a great one, preserved at the East Lancs Railway, quite reliable, just needs some paint so if you want to see the 33 from the tour its up north. Great video, good looking coach. Keep up the amazing work

Hi, it is true,y a lovely model, I have a green one. When I got mine I was advised to get a Dapol imperium 1 decoder and the lights work correctly. Although I cannot turn off the white lights and leave on the red, when the loco pulls Caroline.

Yeah really smart i think. Imo theyve just tried to get a little too clever on the lighting, hopefully its a lesson learned for their future stuff as the rest is top notch! Mine had a loksound V5 fitted to test with which should happily work all the functions but no such luck. Nevermind haha.

I had the same issue, you have to use a 4 function decoder , I used the laisdcc with stay alive and all light function work great ,

If a loksound 5 wont work then a crappy lais decoder wont solve anything

I have a lovely Caroline too, the current Brunswick Green version. It’s a beautiful model. I’m not sure if the NSE version works slightly differently with lights, but using a lokpilot basic, I found that; F0 = Headlights F1 = Interior Lights F2 = Tail Lights (requires F0 to be on, which is a little annoying because when dragged, why would the headlights be on? This seems to be a circuit design issue rather than the decoder.) F5 = Stair lights F6 = Search Lights (requires F0 to be on. Now, the one thing I did find, after removing and replacing the body a couple of times, some of the lights seem to drop out. At first I thought I’d broken something, but with a bit of careful wiggling about of the body, they came back. Just something to be aware of if you’re having issues. Regardless, it is a beautiful looking model and I’m pleased I bought one.

Yeah ive had the body off multiple times to mess with it but nothing sadly! Im using a Loksound decoder so i have been messing with the function outputs on my programmer to try all sorts of combos. Luckily enough it sort of works one end so its fine when leading

I have the exact same inspection saloon as you but I have OO in a small space so the radius is tight and the only gripe I have is that the bogies don’t want to stay on the track but other than that, it is a really well detailed model

Ah that is a pain, there must be a way to fiddle with it allowing for more swing on the bogies. Have you checked if its hitting some of the details at all?

4:10 The best level of detail I've seen for some time ~ even through the lens of a YT vid. I should hope that it does have at least a 21-pin decoder option for that price. Not never having heard of this coach before and pretty sure that I know the answer, I was just a bit thrown by the big windows and the "driver's cab" at the front. Could it propel itself?

Tis pretty decent in my eyes! Yeah no 8 pins here 🤣 And no mate, it is just a coach but with driving controls, so it can control a locomotive such as a 37 ect using control air jumpers ect.

It is expensive. I model N and the N gauge ones far too expensive for one carriage. But for your £160 you shouldn't have the faulty lighting issue. For £160 the model should arrive working fine and perfect. ie without the paint imperfection / mark. I personally don't think its worth that price, in either scale sadly. It does look the bizz and grest attention to detail. Its just overpriced. A very interesting coach though. Started life as a class 203 buffet car.

Looks like one of the axle.boxes has lost it's yellow paint. ?
