yeah...there weren't many black folks not from the south. There is a pipeline from DC to NC and SC

If the cabbage has a little too much sugar, you can counter that with a little bit of vinegar. That’s just how I like my cabbage and greens. It’s how I grew up eating them. My grandmother used to make what she called chow-chow and put that on her greens. I think it’s some kind of pickled relish. I never ate that though.

I'm from Maryland and I've been to the other one in Hyattsville. I enjoyed myself. I had a little bit of everything and i wasn't disappointed. Our food made up for the mediocre service

I don’t go often, but when I do I get the collards, Mac & sweet potatoes 🤤

I love to go there when I’m in town. My favorite is the corn bread with the short ribs and collard greens.

It's the staff for me, I used to work for Lance. He is a Character himself....but his managers used to steal credit card tips. The production is to much, welcome welcome stuff but the food is as decent as the chefs they hire. And they can be expensive on some things but food quality is ok.

Glad to see he finally liked some collards 😂

One of my fav soul food spots. I love one in Brandywine now but nothing tops the one near Magic Johnson theater at the blvd.

Carolina Kitchen is DEFINITELY good when you don’t feel like doing the work of cooking … The pork chops smothered with the jerk sauce is the way to go. With some mac & cheese & collards ❤

Thanks for this review Darius it was really informative and fair. I have eaten at Carolina Kitchen a few times. It’s one of the go to restaurants in NE DC. The only problem I have with this restaurant is that it’s very hard to get in. The place is always crowded. 👍👍👍😊😊😊

Carolina Kitchen is a hit or miss. Depends on location..Mac and Greens are consistent

The location in the hyattsville location is different service.

Definitely get better quality in the morning they had just opened... also it's not consistent at times depending on which location you choose..but yes on a good day and at the right time food be bussin...

Collard greens cut wide as the flag is funny as shyt 😂😂😂 Carolinas kitchen is good to me. The level of service depends on the location tho. Strong 4.5 out of 5 overall

I'm from NC and live in the DMV. This restaurant was disappointing and NOT how we cook in NC. It was salty and full of pepper and vinegar. And MD and DC are in the "south" not the north

Never been to this location but the one in Hyattsville 2x. First time was really good 2nd time it was not good. It was during the pandemic so maybe they had an off day. We had a super long wait outside in the 🥶.

He went at the right time because another shift would’ve moved him right along. That place is normally packed so all this talking in line wouldn’t fly. Depends on the location food wise, the Largo location wasn’t as good as the DC location which is the one I go to.

This video is misleading you don't have to go to the front to get your food that's for carrying out usually there is a hostess at the door to seat you at the table then a waitress will take your order. This place was the bomb 10 years ago now they have a lot of Mexicans and teenagers working there.
