wildfire is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. My dog had heart disease and the vet gave him 15 month to 2 years. he made it 2 years. i would play wildfire, he knew the song. i would sing along and cry. i always told him that wildfire would come and take him home. on 2-28-23, wildfire took my baby home. i still love the song, i wait until wildfire takes me home. love you and your beautiful song.
What can I say? This song is about me!!! I lived this and still do 50 years later! But, in order to reach new heights, I bought a 4-wheeler. As I got older, hiking became a thing of the past. But, I still got to get “far above the timberline.” May my grandson grow to love this song as much as I have and may he climb higher than me in his life! Love you, Michael Martin Murphy! Thank you for writing this one just for me! And, may my grandson listen to it for another 50 years! All my love, Kimberly G.

. the 4 wheeler is sacrilege ... drag your body or have friends carry you ......
LOVE this tune. Murphey's voice is remarkable given his age. Not what it was, but for 79 its impressive.
Great song. When this was a hit, I was stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. This song was played a lot. Semper Fi

Semper fi brother! I was at LeJeune as well when this was rocking the charts. We’d swoop home on the weekends with this blasting and we were happier than a pig in poo!

"than" not "then"; good God
My favorite MMM song. We all have known a Carolina, had a Carolina or wanted a Carolina. For me she remains a dream.
Best version I've ever heard is when Lou Reed sang along and harmonized...it was magical
Wonderful sound of MMM voice never changes for over 50 years!!!
Michael, you sound like a million bucks. Terrific.
Cool he went from Cowboy to Bluegrass Music 🎶
This song reminds me of so many good times, good people and great adventures. Such a perfect time in our lives. I have lived in the foothills of the mountains in Carolina all my life. Seems fitting that this song lingers in our lives like the smell of a campfire in your clothes.
When people speak of the great guitar players, many come to mind and no one is the best. But Michael is certainly one of the best
This song just makes my soul happy, like I have no cares in the world!! 💕👍
I always listen to MMM. He reminds me of Irish Whiskey! The longer in the Barell the better!! Lol. He looks Mighty! I reckon his mum n dad would be very proud!!!!! Go Irish!!❤
You've articulately and beautifully said what many of us feel. Thank you. He is risen, he has risen indeed.
Aw! He still has his great voice and sweet smile ♥️🌹
Ron Block makes the banjo sing

Except maybe "Wildlfire."
Always like that song by him
he lived down the street or road from my aunt in Taos. She's passed but had nothing but good words to say about him.
Grew up playing this song with my dad, Mark (banjo player). So nice to have this video ☺️
This is so beautiful I began to weep.

I do the same with this song and "Wildfire."
I think this is my favorite rendition of my absolute all time favorite piece of music. It's not that famous it moves me perfectly. It just moves up and my spine like the hands of a lover. Beautiful is not a strong enough word.
