It's fine to say the Rangers aren't significantly better than the Canes, but definitely you cannot say the Rangers aren't better than them at all. You've been eliminated twice in the last three years by the Rangers with the elimination happening on your home ice both times.

Rangers are definitely better as an overall team lol. Every metric proves this. In the series the canes had bursts where they played better but over all the rangers offense and goal tending is definitely better than the canes. I say this as a canes fan

Well easier said than done. Watching the same results year after year gets to a point of anger and frustration. That's if you care a lot about your team. I don't follow hockey but will check out the Rangers when there doing well since I'm a New Yorker. Watching that game 6, I could tell that the Canes were playing not to lose. They didn't have that step on your throat, this is our game approach. That just pisses fans off. And sure enough, they left the door open and the Rangers marched through it.

The reality is you did lose to the number one team this year. The canes did play to their potential they just lost to the better team. This series really should've been a sweep game 4 was the Lindgren gift 🎁.

So things are not as simple as a childish "best team wins" thing in any sport, let alone hockey. There's a reason the words upset and fluke and lucky are in the dictionary.

After the first 3 games it was 12 of the last 14 that was not a fluke or luck they know how to beat them they withstand the flurries and perimeter shots and when they get their chances they finish.

Good teams don’t lose three games in a row. The rangers are clearly the better team they proved that third period.

The Rangers have Igor and the Canes have Freddy…the Rangers are the better team. And don’t give me “besides the goalie the canes are better.” The goalie is a part of the team too

After the first 3 games of the series it was 12 of 14 that's not just some kind of fluke the Rangers finish their chances better than the Canes it's that simple.

The Canes have a fast transition style game and they dont have that Tier A goalie to bail them out when that system leads to odd man the other way. The Rangers have Igor. Thats the 1 piece Canes were missing. Andersen is good but not great.

Bingo. Fix the goalie problem and I don't think it matters what players are on the ice. Rod can get anyone to play within the system but he can't teach elite goaltending.

The Rangers are better than Canes. How do I know? They just fucking beat them on the Canes home ice to eliminate them for second time in three years. The Rangers have much higher upside. There is not one player on the Canes better than Igor, Panarin, Fox, kreider or Zibanejad. Your goalies are average or slightly better. Not elite. Blame your GM. You’re never winning the East, this year or next or ever without elite goalies. They lost to the #1 seed in the NHL. The canes played their asses off.

Canes were eliminated by the Rangers twice in the last three seasons and have continuously underperformed in the playoffs. The PP and PK were absent in both rounds. Blame Andersen all you want but the whole team underperformed.

last third of the season...they alternated goalies.....had save % of well over .900....and won most games. Then we ride Freddie in the playoffs? Why? He's not that guy. Never has been. Never will be.

And special teams. While both teams had almost the same number of PP opportunities (21 CAR to 19 NYR), Canes only converted on 2 for a 9.5% rate, while Rangers were 26.3%. Compared to their regular season numbers, Rangers PP was operating at their average, while the Canes severely under-performed. Or you could say, Rangers PK elevated their game. If Canes had scored at their regular season average (27%), those 3 or 4 more goals would have made the difference, especially in the first 3 games.

I’m a Ranger fan and I am telling you Brind’Amour is a great coach. Keep him!!! It wasn’t him that failed the team, Canes were beaten by a better team. That Ranger second goal turned the game around cause it gave life to my team and you could see the Canes getting tight. A coach can’t control your emotions on the ice and the Canes had every opportunity to win it on multiple open shots on Shesterkin but couldn’t close it out. Brind’Amour has turned this team into an NHL powerhouse, if you lose him the regret will be instant.

Playing to potential equates to also executing plays, the Canes did not execute, thus they did not play to any elite potential. The Rangers are a better team because they have assets that execute far better than the Canes, that's not even talking about a superior goaltender who made the saves when he needed to. The Canes had tons of shots, but did not capitalize, the Canes had more than 22 chances at the PP, and went 0-20 when you consider they gave BACK to shorthanded goals. Bingo the Rangers finish better that's why they usually win in big games against the Canes but you guys are a young team and I wouldn't be surprised if they learn to finish better it was a close series.

The Canes should have made that "Guentzel" trade two to three years ago. They allowed the Rangers to pass em, then played catch-up with a big deadline trade. Should have gone after it a few years back.

Pittsburgh never would have traded him than. The only way any team was getting Jake was as a rental, he was well loved, they still love him. But are willing to depart because he deserves a big pay day and Pittsburgh can't afford it with so many areas needing fixed

I went to game 6. we just gave up as a team, as we had done all playoffs, cant blame just one it was everything. coaching, players, just sad and we likely wont even make the playoffs next year

I would never listen to this except that it's on my feed now but that's why these things are 7 games. It gives the time for the better team to rise to the top. Canes got outplayed when it counted, special teams were all NYR and one of the biggest factors...IGOR Gave you a thumbs up for not crying

I thought the rangers actually played poorly in 4 of those 6 games and still beat you while actually playing the canes type of hockey. They sound better than the Category 1 Canes to me.

Your coach said in the media that one half your teams game is getting beaten very badly.. speaking to special teams. Special teams are big part of hockey, especially in the playoffs. Given the fact that the Canes were getting slaughtered on both the PP and PK.. and you can't even admit that? Lol? Where do you go from there? Rangers had the better goaltending... that was pretty obvious wasn't it? Canes had an edge on 5x5 because of puck possession.. but that went out the window in the game 6 3rd period.. Chris Krieder was better than your entire team in that third period. The Canes are great puck possession/cycling team, but they don't generate enough quality scoring chances. Once their man/man coverage gets disjointed... they unravel defensively. They place a great regular season style of hockey, but it doesn't correlate well to the playoffs, and you don't have great goaltending. Rangers are far from perfect (no team is) But your own coach said... NYR... best team in the league.

Listen to what your coach said. You just got beat by the best team in the NHL. You need a goalie. Also they lack discipline. Good luck next year.

I can't watch every team in the league. But in this series, the difference was apparently (goalie/special teams). RANGERS find ways to score on PP and PK! Shesterkin allows the RANGERS to fly when they are behind to come from behind! They and He have no fear!

@bobicus Yeah, it was upsetting that hat trick killed our confidence and our chance to force game 7. Next season is gonna be different with a lot of young bloods coming up. Hopefully, they can step up to the plate, I know that's a lot to ask for a kid but we have an excellent captain and the veterans that are staying will show them how to be a CANE.

Colorado won the cup with good goaltending. You just need timely goaltending. You need scoring to win the cup. Lundqvist, price, rinne, luongo, even Hasek before Detroit…. 5 of the greatest goalies ever and no cup.

Another fanbase who thinks they have the best team in the nhl no other team is better. How did this happen. The team who beat them isn’t that good compared to my team. Like really? The better team wins all the time. The bottom line is the Canes are a great team but they played against a better team. Canes didn’t lose against islanders why cause Canes are better.
