I listened to her speak about the shocking truth that set her free. I was already to hear the victim hood story, and the white privilege story, but was taken back when I found that she didn’t blame her problems on the rest of the world or white people.I’ve never listened to such a strong, intelligent woman. I expect that Black people will complain and be angry and full of hate so this is absolutely shocking very refreshing to hear her speak.

At 11:02 Carol Swain praised the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The 1964 Civil Rights Act did not eliminate racial discrimination but enshrined it in the law. I am sure Carol Swain is a very nice person, but she is promoting a self-serving law which benefited some minorities while playing on the emotions of ignorant white people which has been the tactic of the left to justify their legislation. It was the same tactic used to legalize gay marriage.

Why is she so hard on Libertarians? I'm going to have to research more into that. Was thinking my views leaned more towards the Libertarians view. Thanks Dr. Swain great speech! In God we Trust!

Look up black conservative Chad O. Jackson for the truth about Martin Luther King and the 1964 Civil Rights Act. You will be shocked. Carol Swain is promoting liberal ideology.

11:02 The 1964 Civil Rights Act did not remove racial discrimination but enshrined it in the law itself. Read Christopher Caldwell's 2020 book, Age of Entitlement, for details about this horrible piece of legislation.

Carol Swain seriously misrepresents some significant issues. For example, she said, “universities like Rutgers who made the decision that black students at the university did not have to meet standards of English”. What Rutgers actually did was pay less attention to student applicants’ SAT/ACT scores - those “standards“ that she seems to think are so critical - and paid more attention to their skills, talents and commitment. Those character qualities that go into creating a good student and a good human being, not just a good test taker. They didn’t lower their graduation requirements, but they did expand their admissions criteria and what they considered to be good communication. They paid more attention to what the individual said than the way they said it. As a consequence, many individuals, some of them Black, received educations they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to receive just because they couldn’t recognize a split infinitive. *** In 1948, the Democratic legislators of the Southern states, those that had attempted to secede from the United States of America and started the Civil War, decided they didn’t like the direction the national Democratic Party was taking in promoting civil rights. They created a short-lived third political party called the States Rights Democratic Party. These “Dixiecrats”, as they called themselves, were the ones who opposed the 1964, 1965 and 1968 civil rights legislations that she speaks about in such glowing terms (and rightly so). What she fails to mention is that those laws were initiated and championed by Democrats. As a professor of history, Carol Swain is not ignorant of these facts, but is hoping that we are and is counting on that ignorance to make her point. At 11:20 Professor Swain says, “...we decided what kind of America we wanted to have and during the 1960s we not only passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but we also passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Open Housing Act of 1968 that meant that people like me who was born into poverty had an equal opportunity...”. What she fails to mention is that that package of laws had been proposed and championed by liberal, progressive Democrats. It was liberal, progressive Democrats who passed the laws that helped to insure that she would have the equal opportunities that she enjoyed as a young Black woman. Without them, Carol Swain and people like her might still be sitting in the back of the bus. It is deceptive of her to choose to ignore these facts.
