I'm 50 and I think she's awesome. I remember her show and of course I remember her in Annie!

Carol Burnett wasn't a part of my childhood but she truly seems like a great personality. Not many of Conan's guests are entertaining on their own but she absolutely is. Conan's story was great too. Good stuff

I was a kid at the end of the Carol Burnette Show and she always seemed like such a fun lady.

You can tell she's just an awesome human being!

I watched "The Front Page", it's not Billy Wilder's best, but it's pretty funny, and Carol Burnett it's GREAT on it.

You did a wonderful job in that movie front page my mother took me to see that and it was funny and I never seen her laugh so hard!😊

Great moment on Conan O'Brien's talk show when Carol Burnett tells the story of her apology to the people on an airplane for her performance in "The Front Page" (1974). She was just, unfortunately, woefully miscast as Earl Williams' prostitute/girlfriend Molly in that movie. But Ms. Burnett is a wonderful , enormously talented comedic actress. Her TV show, "The Carol Burnett Show" ,which ran for about 11 seasons on TV ,was superb and I wish they had TV shows of that quality on television today instead of the absolute garbage, so-called "reality" TV shows which are nothing more than contrived situations involving people of little or no talent at all. Nice to see Conan O'Brien doing a solid interview without resorting to his usual over-the-top zaniness!

I misspelled the name of Carol Burnett's character Mollie in the 1974 movie, "The Front Page" in my above-posted comment about her interview on Conan O'Brien's talk show.

Her singing voice is awesome.

Carol Burnett is much too hard on herself. The problem isn't HER performance; she gave it her best. The problem is (as some have noted) that Molly is perhaps the only character in the story that doesn't have any funny lines. She's playing a "straight man", delivering expository dialogue, and emoting for Earl Williams. You don't need a COMEDIAN for that role--you need a more conventional non-comedy actress. That sounds contradictory for a funny movie, but it would've been a better fit. Carol didn't fail the movie; the casting director did.

Agreed. She's doing the best she can with a mouthful of exposition, and wearing a costume not wardrobe. Also worth mentioning is the style of performance here. These actors are all playing for camera like they're on stage. It was more important to deliver the lines on time than it was to perform them. Carol is actually acting in this thing. Her performance style was just above this.

Nicely done, Conan!

I've seen Billy Wilder's The Front Page many times and own the movie on DVD. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau were great as well as the cast loaded with character actors. It even made reference to a certain current event Watergate with the "twist slowly in the wind". The only problem I had about the film was the miscasting of Carol Burnett. So, when she says she was awful, believe her. lol

Apparently I would not be a good movie critic. I liked The Front Page and the only part that I didn't like about CB's performance was she didn't have a bigger part. Carol is the epitome of what an entertainer really is. She actually has talent!

I go trough that every single weekend, I offer free shows in a city amphitheater( live band) and peoples mood depends on if we do good all the people wants to come and speak to us to congratulate or say nice things but if we suck, It’s very hard to look them in the eye 😂 so cringy

She could totally play his Mother in a movie that i’d watch.

This is a real feminist, a woman that was and is a legend cus of her work and opening the doors for other women to do comedy and NEVER complained of any thing, she did her job that she LOVED and cus she is a master in her job she inspired other people not just women to do comedy and thats why she is a REAL legend, she never asked for it, she just did it CUS SHE LOVE IT I love you Carol and god bless you

@ Iron Fan. It is absolutely absurd that they no longer use the term "stewardess" to refer to female airline flight attendants! There is nothing sexist or offensive about that term , but in this increasingly crazy ,upside-down world ,sickening political correctness has warped people's thinking!

@ L Morgan. "The Front Page" (1974) does not in any way, shape or form "stink" as you mischaracterize it! It is a wonderfully funny movie with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. Alan Pendleton was superb as Earl Williams and Vincent Gardenia was great as Sheriff Peter B.Hartman in that movie and Pendleton was outstandingly funny as the stuttering lawyer in "My Cousin Vinnie".

Is the audience fake? The laugh sounds always the same
