Makes you a better Potter? Not sure of that, maybe makes you a Potter who hasn’t learned how-to center properly. In the demo the top of the lump of clay was never centered which made the rim a bit wobbly. The opening finger could be a good thing for getting the depth right which is sometimes tricky on big pots and nice flat bottom is nice but no I don't think it makes you a better potter

How can you adjust the centering part to clear your splash plan and still come close to the bat?

How many lbs can you center with this? It looks like it'd be really handy for centering large amounts of clay.
