We're excited to be back in Icy Strait Point for one of our absolute favorite excursions ever... whale watching with Glacier Wind Charters in Hoonah! Join us as we head out with Captain Casey aboard their brand-new 13-passenger boat, finding more whales than we could have imagined!! :P

We're off on the second of two "side-by-side" cruises to Alaska, this time aboard Carnival Miracle out of Seattle! We sailed from September 14-22, 2021 with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, and Ketchikan, as well as sailing the Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. Let's do this thing!

    We have used Glacier Wind Tours twice, they are wonderful. Will be sailing again July 2022 this time with Captain Casey on the 13 passenger new boat. Shawn and Teresa are wonderful.

    I had a Dee moment and cried! I want to see the whales! I am cruising in May 2022 on the Carnival Freedom, but I don't think my cruise will do to this port! NOW, I will cry some more.

    I am so excited for our trip - I just booked the 6 person boat with Glacier Wind Charters and its going to be a long 9 month wait but it looks like it is going to be so worth it!

    My sister and I took the gondola to the Norwegian dock. While there, Regina Mahr spotted the orca swimming around and it eventually went over to the Carnival ship. It was very cool!

    That totem pole in the shopping area looked like one of those "Never Give Up" statues. It looked like something was being eaten, but what was being eaten was strangling the eat-or. Think the one I have seen is a pelican trying to eat a frog.

    Yes - same as I thought too - Before watching Jay and Dee's, I was watching quite a few on ISP and realized - hey, cool place! And, lots to do also with some great sights and that new gondola ride too.

    This was a excellent port. There was so many whale sightings. I'm going to book Alaska again, maybe I can go in 2022. My 2020 cruise was cancelled. I was so disappointed 😞 because I waited all 2019 and was so excited with the countdown.

    Amazing video of one of our favorite ports, Icy Strait. Wish more people would explore this little gem. Also, a huge thank you for showing your Glacier Wind experience --- have gone with them MANY times and they are the BEST in our opinion.     I've been watching numerous Icy Straight Point youtubes and now generally interested in arranging my cruise to include ISP - your video did show a lot more changes that were obviously just recent to the port. That was great to see too and added to my interest. I was however expecting you guys to take a ride on the zips! :)

    We looked at that, but for $140 per person for a ride up on the shuttle and a quick zip down, we thought better of it!! :P

    Love ISP. When we were there, a whale breached about 10 feet from the shore. It was so cool. Some of the crew were actually swimming in the water. It was about 70 degrees. Great vlog. Thank you.

    Great whale watching tour with Glacier Winds ! We see Orca whales occasionally as we live on Vancouver Island but that was a lot of Humpbacks you saw on this tour. Bonus getting that Tram ride too! We are doing first Alaska Cruise in July 2022 with Grand Princess - really enjoying your videos as preview, thank you 😊

    I just saw that you guys are cruising on Splendor but the day we get back. I'm so bummed now. I would of loved to of been on the same cruise with you guys. My boys, husband and I all watch your adventures. Such a shame. Maybe we will meet in the passing of the ship over to you. LOL

    Amazing whale activity coupled with great music! My whale watch from Icy Strait wasn't quite as active but was fun nonetheless. The town of Hoonah was closed off to passengers due to a rash of COVID cases. Wonderful video!

    We see bald eagles in the outskirts of town( Greeley,CO). I saw a bunch in the Kenai penninsula. A friend said that a couple of weeks before there were perhaps a hundred there !

    I LOVE your channel! May I ask if you know if they still sail with their smaller boat? I've been spoiled in Hoonah with 6 passenger boats and went on a 13 passenger boat in Juneau. I just didn't care for so many elbows in my photos! :)
