Welcome to Day1 - Carnival Mardi Gras port & boarding process. Carnival people verified our boarding pass to allow us into the building. Public announcement - If you are a pot smoker, leave your pot at home. They have drug sniffing dogs and they use them. After the sniff security we went to the ticket counter, they verified our boarding pass and scanned our passport. We proceeded through a metal detector and x-ray machine and entered into the actual Port area. After the port area we got on the gangplank entering the ship. We got on the ship and we did our muster, which is mandatory. if you are a first-time Cruiser please go do your muster as soon as you get on the ship. Your muster location is printed on your boarding pass. It' will save you a lot of time before the cruise leaves. After muster dropped the bags off in the room, got a light lunch, went back to the room, did a video on the cabin, and had some drinks in the room as we watched the Royal Caribbean Mariner of The Seas ship pulling out to sea. Once the Mariner went out to sea we watched the Mardi Gras get turned around by the captain in a small area turning us to the Atlantic Ocean. As we sailed out of the channel we got a great view of Cocoa Beach and other sites in the port area from the balcony. Once the ship went out to sea, we got a light bite to eat. Welcome to day one Carnival Mardi Gras. Thanks for coming along happy cruising.

Blaze up guys and gals 😊. Yall complain about mary J but yall are cool with funky cigarette smoke. Make it make sense. If it doesn't affect you just mind your business and enjoy your cruise.

I don't disagree with you. People should mind their own business and let people do what they want if they are not hurting or stealing from others. You should be able smoke whatever to your heart’s content. Just be aware that pot is illegal on a Carnival cruise ships, due to US federal law. If you do get it on the ship past the drug sniffing dogs. Just be aware you are smoking at your own risk. Thank you for watching and Happy Cruising!

I totally agree. I'm a medical patient for marijuana and it helps me with my pain. I think it's 12:53 stupid that they would rather me have to take opiates that don't mix well with my other medications, when I could just use my vape pen and have a safer and better effective way for handling my physical pain. I'm 53 years old and at my age I can't imagine that the cruise industry can't come up with a solution that works for today's customers. Thing's have changed since the earlier days of cruising.
We just came off of the Mardi Gras and you could smell weed all over the ship. Especially since our balcony was right above the smoking area.

I guess the dogs are not doing there jobs I cannot stand the stuff today you do not know what is in when I did that stuff 30 yrs that was the good stuff I would never touch that stuff. I take medications but not that. I was going to look going on Mardi Gras but I decide flying is pain in neck especially with motorized wheelchair I will be going Venezia Nov 2024 because it is NY and I live NY easy for me 10 mins to port

it doesn’t affect u just mind you business, i think cigarettes smell worse maybe they should ban those.
When i get to my state room i tell them that i have to store my insulin in the fridge so i also leave my luggage in there to so i won't have to drag them around.

I dont smoke pot but they ban pot but encourage you to drink til you drop. Booze is more dangerous imo.

Love your video! Did you see dolphins? I have only been on one cruise out of Galveston and I got to see dolphins for the 1st time. Hope you guys had an amazing cruise! I'm from up north 😅😂

FYI - the outlet in the bathroom ceiling is US 110 volt plug, usually labeled for electric razers.

@georgeleong1572 yes we are. It's heading to Barcelona Spain for dry dock. They are going to put a new whales tail on it as well as some other improvements. It's an older ship but, it's a good size and lots of fun.

Andrea is the packing master and has been talking about putting a video together on how we do it. Keep in mind we do sacrifice some in order to travel with only carry ons. One quick suggestion would be to pack wrinkle-free shirts, bottoms & dresses and use ziplock compression bags. Look for our packing video in the near future. Why carry your own luggage? Seems like a lot of work

It's easy for us when we have 2 carry-on size bags. We like carrying our own bags because we have all our stuff when we get to the room, no waiting for the bags. However, the last few cruises we have been checking our bags because we have been traveling with 3 bags, 2 carry on bags and one size larger than a carry on. I never so security Venezia they were everywhere there out when I Conquest they we’re probably there not on ship as they were out on Venezia and there was many Medical emergency to cabins

Carnival cruise line is the worst cruise line for many reasons i went on a couple of carnival cruises

That's cool! I'm sure there are other people that feel the same way. Thank goodness there are other cruiselines to choose from. We cruise a few different lines and LOVE them all for different reasons. We are so grateful and fortunate🙏 to cruise . Thank you for watching. Happy Cruising!
