Oui c'est vrai, Ernestina possède une voie d'ange, pure et claire. Elle me trouble infiniment avec son hymne "Ma Patrie", Roz, Podjuna, et Zila, et bien d'autres.

If there is a woman's chorus anywhere on Earth that sounds or looks more beautiful or puts more heart into every performance, I would love to hear and see them. But I do not think that is likely. And their string ensemble and pianist is equally beautiful, not to mention that amazing-sounding pipe organ. It has been a wonderful experience watching many of the young ladies in this chorus, Ernestina and several others, come "up through the ranks" in past years with the Gimnazija Kranj girls' chorus, and just get better every year. ☺💖

@@CarmenManet Your music certainly does speak to me, in the most beautiful voice imaginable. Thank you for sharing so much beauty of sound and sight with us. One thing that would be really nice, on your future videos, is to list the names of your singers, pianist, string musicians, and organist in your notes, as Primož Zevnik has previously done on his videos of the Gimnazija Kranj performances. Some of them I recognize, of course, from their years with his girls' chorus, but it would be nice to know them all. And just to let you know that I am sitting here at home on a beautiful, sunny Hawaiian Sunday morning with a cup of good coffee and listening to and watching the chorus perform Kim's "Magnificat" as I write this. I cannot think of a nicer way to start the day. 💖💕

And I am good friends with one of the members, and also with the good man who helped to start all of these so-talented young ladies on their singing careers, when they were members of his Gimnazija Kranj Symphony Orchestra and Choruses. 💖😊 And I agree... We agree, this needs to change soon! :) She hasn't yet recorded any solo albums. However, you can listen to her on our latest studio album Apollo 18 (you can order it on info@carmenmanet.si) or listen to her on our YT channel and on the YT channel @zevnikov, who publishes performances from concerts of Gymnasium Kranj, where she takes part in. Thank you for your nice comments and happy 2020!

Please give us some background on Ernestina Jošt and the other performers. What are their ages? Are they students, or professionals? Either way, they are wonderful.

Jerry, Ernestina is now 24 years old, She graduated from Ljubljana University Faculty of Music last year(or was it the year before, I have lost track). Carmen Manet is an amateur choir which has grown out of school choirs which, although all due credit must be given to many others, have, nonetheless been inspired by Primož Zevnik, a Professor of Slovene at Gimnazija Kranj. Here is a lovely little piece by Carmen Manet in 2017 on the occasion of winning the European Youth Choirs competition in Riga, Latvia. @@terryhoath1983... Hi Terry, Thank you so much for your reply. I have been enjoying the links you sent. As far as Ernestina, it is rare that such imposing physical beauty, magnificent voice and splendid musicality, combine in one person. I’m sure that with proper management, there’ll be no limit to how far she can go. Next, I am truly amazed at the quality the musical groups that have been produced in and around a relative small city like Kranj (population about 38,000) There are equally talented students everywhere, but without the superior support from the parents, the school and the community, groups like these don’t happen. I think too often we give too much credit to conductors. While a great conductor can improve the performance of any group, even the greatest orchestra conductor will not get a Vienna, Chicago, London, Berlin, or even a Gimnazija Kranj level performance out of a group of beginners! (Sorry to leave out Royal Concertgebouw … too big a word to spell) Thank you again for your comment.
