That's probably a result in a clash in philosophies (I can't tell for sure because I don't know where your band is located). The Japanese will play exactly what's on the page, exactly the way it's written -- and nothing more. American ensembles value musicality and creative interpretation more than perfection. (To be honest, I'd go with the perfection.)

That's hilarious. No doubt, she's just biased. Most high schoolers are. ;)

Let me guess that musically wise you felt maybe it was better, but technically this just owns any American high school band upside down, left right centre. Lively is super contextual anyway. Your view is too narrow, learn to evaluate all aspects of the music before you give a negative comment, or await a shit storm .

wtf? are u kidding? tokyo orchestra is better 1000000x than ur high school musical band lol , this orchestra have the bests professionals musicians and you say that your school band with amateurs make better? LOOOOL

Not really good in my opinion, too rigid & fragmented. My high school did this as my final show last fall & sounded more lively.
