The high school band I play in is giving this a whirl, and it's just a blast. I love our tuba section and all, but until I heard this, I had no idea there was that little tuba lick in the very beginning. Holy crap, they need to go to town on that part. It's the bee's knees.

The tambourine part is stunningly fun to play in this piece, particularly in the first movement. You carry the entire tempo change on your back. Great piece, definitely a favorite of mine.

THIS IS SO GOOD I love how there's a little bit of something fun in there for every instrument. So cool.

Playing this in senior band and I am in love with all 4 movements. It's just so much fun to have a bassoon part that is something other than half or whole notes.

As a euphonium player, it's always nice to get a mixture of the melody, harmony and bass line since the range of our instrument is amazing :) But honestly, the second movement gives me chills down my spine because do how it's so melodic and how the instrumentalist has brought it to life, the oboe especially was amazing as his or her notes were very clear and beautiful. All four movements are different but with good reason :)

Though not the most difficult piece I've played, as an avid euphonium player I have to say that this is one of my favorite songs. Great mixture of high and low voices and the way Van der Roost maintains the original theme throughout is awesome. I can't decide which movement is my favorite...

As a double bass player it's really beautiful finding a piece that uses the pizzacato of the instrument to it's advantage to spice the piece

I have to say 3rd and 4th movements where my favorite just because of how upbeat they where and because i got to beat the crap out of the cymbals :)

Umm...first horn! Within the horn section of our band (a grand total of two) the word Puszta has come to mean "I'm extremely happy and I'm feeling epic, but my face is dead." We've played the song a grand total of once...love at first note.

2nd alto here, played this in 2013 and absolutely fell in love with it, especially the 1st movement.

Amazing lower brass and Barry sax, you can hear everything. Well balanced! Played this song during high school, brought back awesome memories👍🏼

Horn part in the end of the 3rd movement changed my life, not so much emphasized in this version but when we played it... always blew me away. Favorite piece ever.

This is a very, very good performance. And such an excellent arrangement for the woodwinds! Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra is a treasure.

As a novice trombone player I can say that this is a very fun and challenging price to play!

I played this about 20 years ago in All County band (small county). The difference was my director instead opted to play the 3rd, 2nd and 4th movements, in that order and no 1st movement at all.

I play first trombone for all movements, and I believe that this part has been the most fun part on trombone i've played in concert band for my high school. I am a senior. It's also awesome when we show up the trumpets in movement 3. This might be one of my favourite pieces to play of all time along with The stars and stripes forever and Jupiter from the planets.

Yeah, I play alto sax. We played this in my freshman year; it was one of the first pieces I got to play that was pretty sophisticated (I remember thinking "alright! Music!"). I found it fun to play. We saxophone players were rather fond of the E to low B part (third or fourth movement, though it escapes me which--by listening now I am inclined to say fourth). It was just hilariously awkward.
