The term legend gets tossed around pretty easily these days, but Carly Simon is a legend and a gift to music.

She still has a beautiful voice. Her songs got me through difficult times in the 1970s. She is so inspiring.

Beautiful! This is how the original should have been played. If Carly were playing this is in the mountains, all the animals & birds would have stopped just to listen to the beautiful singing & melody.

Being the youngest of 4 in the early 70's I learned a lot about music from my siblings. GOOD music lessons! Carly, Cat Stevens, James Taylor and Jim Croce were the singers I grew up knowing. I feel lucky they are my foundation. Keep singing Carly... your fans LOVE it!

Compare this to her 1971 performance...you can tell she loves doing the song, grooves with her band, and always put a little something special in to it.

Without a doubt a masterpiece. I grew up to many songs as a kid by Carly Simon and continued to enjoy her music throughout the years as I got older. I continue to enjoy her music. Thanks Carly for posting this. I just happened to search for this song and came upon this video. To say that this is a masterpiece is an understatement!!!

That ketchup commercial may have been the first time I heard this song! But seriously, Carly can make even a simple performance of two guitars and voices sound spectacular. So vivacious and fun she is! 😘 Love you Carly and company!

The good ol' days are gone so fast! And how I miss them...

I love to play this on my acoustic. What a classic. Makes old folks like me think of ketchup. Heinz used it in their TV commercials way back in the day. Outstanding lyrics....if you can get past the ketchup...lol

That was in 2005 I think. If so she was 60 back then. Yes, sounded great and looks more like she was in her 40s. I love that Carly look ;-)

The Heinz ketchup ad was an innovative marriage of hit pop song and advertisement. Previously almost all ad spots used original jingles written exclusively for an ad campaign. "Anticipation" broke that mold. Today a hit song married with an ad is routine. Many contemporary songs are used for ads before they are released to create buzz. Moby's music is a prime example of that technique.

She definitely made her Mark ( in a very competitive time of music during the early 1970s. Aside from being very attractive, she obviously has great musical instincts with producing songs and getting hold of excellent material that worked for her. The young female artist over the last 25 years sadly, don’t even compare.
