There’s something charming about this song and how it feels like it was literally taken from the 80s in a time machine and released now. Carly and the 80s synth pop sound fits so perfectly. I feel like when other artists try doing that 80s pop sound it doesn’t sound genuine but this is like something you’d hear in a shopping mall in the 80s or in a cheesy rom com movie lol

Purple Perplexing Pineapples In this song she doesn’t seem to care if he likes her or not at all. She’s euphoric and she just wants him in her room. I know this theme of uncertainty is recurring in her discography but it tends to be a story.

I am absolutely astounded by how amazingly produced this is. I am still shocked by how the entire song revolves around her want to engage in sexual intercourse with her lover, she wears skimpy clothes, but not once in the whole video did I feel like Carly was sexualized. Like, she was enjoying herself, and loving herself, and loving others, but it wasn't a voyeuristic performance; she was just living her best life. I am in love with all of this.

The drum sound is vintage mid-80s - sampled Linn Drums with a complicated but heavily-quantised rhythm. Also it has a sax solo in the fade. It sounds like a mid-80s song from the early days of digital drum machines and the DX7 etc.
