Such a joy to watch for that reason. I would throw Ben Shelton in that category, too. Just so much positive energy. Tennis could benefit so much from just a touch more of that. Glad to see players openly expressing themselves in such a buttoned-up sport. :)

I have been an Alcaraz fan since his challenger match days. But I hope he doesn't get injured with the incredible shots he creates. I sometimes think he does those shots for the audience which is nice of him but some of those highlight type shots are not worth an injury. I know he is young and he loves to entertain, but his team needs to think long term. What I love most about Carlos is his all court game style, so much creativity. I also like many of the young players that will challenge Alcaraz in the future. I think the men's game has a bright future.

Feels like Carlos could have the same kind of dominance Roger had in the early 2000s. Of course, if he does, some will say he was only dominant because it was a "weak era" 😀.

What a regret not being able to see this kid play against peak Federer and peak Nadal. At least I hope there will be some good matches vs Djokovic in the near future. Alcaraz is on the same league as the big 3, and I don't think any of the other new kids has a chance with him, except Sinner (maybe).

We're not worthy of Carlos Alcaraz. Sumptuous and highly-entertaining tennis, with just the right amount of ridiculousness (2:42 and 4:08) to keep you mesmerized throughout the match. Well done on Grigor for keeping it close in the second set. What a time to be alive and watching tennis!

@@bogdanpopescu1401 that's why I wrote "almost". I had no illusions that Grigor can beat Alcaraz. My point was what has happened the last 6 years, mentally he has become very weak - unforced errors, breaking and then getting broken right away. It has happened in dozens of matches.
