Carl's Place: Long Term Review
Carl's Place is the one stop shop for the golf simulator DIY'ers out there. It's the retail location you wish you could visit every week and just hang out and talk shop.

I'm challenging myself to break 80 outside for my first ever round of golf outside. To make it more difficult, I am going to do it in 1 year of only learning on an indoor golf simulator. This requires me to use and abuse my Carl's Place Premium Impact Screen, DIY Enclosure, and Hot Shot Hitting Mat. Because i'm brand new to the game of golf, that means a lot of errant shots, poor strikes, and deep chunks on the mat. Add my buddies who hit 170mph ball speeds and you just increase the beating.

You said you developed tendonitis. Do you at all think the original, replaceable hitting strip that "came with" the carl's hotshot mat (not the divot action one) was what caused/worsened your tendonitis? Does the hitting strip grab on to your club when you hit a bit fat or hit down on the ball in an unnatural way at all? Do you think it emulates the feel of real grass well?

What is the width, height, and length of your turfed area?

13.5' W x 18.5' L x 1.5" H -- subfloor is OSB (I think it was 22/32") with 1/2" gym tile, and the surface was a higher end non padded offering from Turf Factory Direct.

What mat did you go with?

@@kennyg7782 Carl's Hotshot 4' x 9'. And I'd go with it if I had to rebuild today.
