    Love your videos. I think I might disagree with your tip for setting the sax down on the key side. I'd say it really depends on the saxophone. For my two cannonball saxes, the left hand spatula keys would not touch the flat surface at all, so the sax is mostly resting on the bell, which is ideal; the palm D, which is fairly sturdy and would be easier to fix than damage to a post; and a key guard. The same goes for my curved soprano, which has key guards on the opposite side like an older vintage sax. For my tenor, the left hand spatula keys do touch, so I might rest it on the key side posts in this case.

    Thanks for the comment! I didn’t think about the horns with the bell keys on the opposite side. In that case you’re right, those opposite side bell keys would provide enough clearance so that the spatula keys wouldn’t touch . I think my tip works for the majority of modern horns, although there are some that still make the bell keys on the opposite side.

    @@dustinhellen Yes, or modern horns with a larger bell, like Cannonball saxes. All 3 of my saxes are modern saxes, but only my tenor sax’s spatula keys touch.
