I am called to help the homeless, the alcoholics and the addicts. I was living a comfortable life, been a meat cutter for over 26 years and I was making good money. One day I ran into a homeless man and his dog and it changed the way I thought. How ironic is it that I look into the face of a young homeless man and saw God looking back at me. Some won't understand that statement but those who know Christ will.

Awwwww, I am a very nice just turned 76 year old woman. I have done stuff for people like sending them money when they really needed it. They knew me, but never knew that it was me who gave them the money. I got more out of it than they did. Just made me feel so good. I played Santa to little boy and girl twin siblings . They never knew who I was. I just got so much joy out of doing that. It was so good for my soul.

I started doing something similar on the Blue Ridge Parkway with my family when I was about 12. We stopped at a roadside rest stop, and there was a man sleeping curled up under the bathroom sink. I always kept a $20 bill in my wallet, for no particular reason. I slipped it in his pocket. Hope he found it. From then on, there was a reason for keeping a $20 bill in my wallet, because there’s always so,some who needs it more than I do, Was decades ago, and I’ve never made much, been homeless some myself, and I think I only made it because I knew something bigger than me works through us, and that was reason enough to continue. God bless you all, you’re all angels if you want to be, at any moment of any day, this I promise

@16:02 As a former homeless man, it bothers me when i hear them constantly asking for more. It bothered me when i was on the streets... i always lived by the rule: If someone is freely giving, don't ask for more. Meaning, you're doing a lot for this man. Sleeping bag, clothes, SMOKES, pizza, and Gatorade. a couple bucks, Annnnd he asks for $5-$10 for later... If i was on the streets with him, i'd smack him and tell him not to be greedy... Ive done it before. Not a hard smack, but a friendly backhand to the chest, letting them know they're pushing it... It makes people not want to help other people...

I was very patient with William, I edited out 15 minutes of dialog that revolved around the money he asked for a dozen times and his tweaking, and he still kept asking for money. He even ask me if I had any tin foil, WTF?! In the end he says he just smokes weed, LOL ...

I was in a similar situation, although I didn't smack the guy...but wanted to... I gave the man $10 and a few cigarettes and instead of saying thank you, he said, "oh dam, I need more than this". I scolded him and said that he should be grateful and not greedy. I eventually found out he was not homeless, just pretending to be for handouts...

It's not like they're going to become a millionaire by asking for money. What they need is a roof over their heads. Tiny homes would be perfect - too bad the rich isn't interested

I feel so bad for him. Reminds me so much of my uncle. Leg injury, In so much pain, homeless off and on again, (family tried to help), he passed a year ago. He used to be very well off but due it injury, got addicted to pain meds, then heart problems, and lost his whole beautiful family due to his problems. From riches to rags was his story, but thankfully he found the Lord before he passed. I always think of him when I give to the homeless. He was a good uncle. 😢 It really can happen to anybody, just remember that.

Nice thought but reality doesn't work like that. This guy obviously has other issues and since at the 1960's where it started, to the 80's where Ronald finalized it, the funding was cut for any ongoing help for those actually unable to help themselves. Edit: not that they got the help they needed before that. It's always been a business. They just realized they weren't making any money on those "not quite right" hence closing down and pushing them onto the streets.

I don’t know what the guy in this video’s situation is, whether he has mental illness, drug addiction or what. It’s sad though that anyone has to live like that.

You CAN be like Michael…..just go out and do what you can for any homeless you meet….it’s just that simple. It doesn’t take a lot… I don’t have much… I live on disability…. I don’t have a KZread channel, or anything else like that…and I don’t get help with money or items from KZread followers but I’ve been feeding /clothing, getting tents, blankets, sleeping bags, etc for the homeless a couple times a week for over 35 years…I scout garage sales and second hand stores for stuff…..if everyone just did a little…it would be a tremendous help….we need more people to help and the basic would be to just write your congressman to have them do more for the homeless. What Michael does is wonderful and how amazing that in these times, we have things like KZread to help him make all these beautiful souls lives a bit easier with food and whatever else they need….sometimes, the internet IS a blessing… 😊. Michael IS a blessing.

That’s a great idea to go to second hand stores and yard sales 👏🏼I carry things in my car too - I stopped approaching homeless people to offer help as a young lady completely freaked out and thought I was a cop 😕

I've only known 4 people in my life who were as helpful and empathetic as you. Well done. You couldn't do more for him.

How can I help?

That poor man with the broken femur, and left to die in the street by a hit and run driver , is the most deplorable thing one person could do to a homeless man. The man has no pain medication , and lying on cold concrete . God bless you for helping him.

I’ve experienced crippling pain that didn’t let up for 5 straight months. I have a comfortable home and a caring family. I can’t imagine being in that guy’s situation with that kind of pain.

Unfortunately a lot of addiction starts with mental health issues. Schizophrenia means they hear voices in their head, don’t know what is happening, and try to self medicate to quiet the voices.

Honestly the biggest thing for me is that you treat them like human beings. Laugh with them joke around with them, some of them you know on a personal basis. It's great to see. Especially when being treated with decency and respectful and like a human is actually just what all ppl want homeless or not. Keep spreading the joy and love, to your viewer's. And of course helping those in need 😊

I had a hip replacement last October and it was excruciating pain and I am 70 years old. It took about 5 days for the dr to get me on the right pain medication. I cannot imagine the pain that William is going through. Michael, thank you for spreading kindness. I left a comment on another video to ask if you have a Venmo account. Man, you just dropped $100+ dollars on this guy and he's asking for more money?, you sure do have alot of patience, but I do realize that not all homeless are like this and most people are very appreciative of any form of help, you a good man. subbed and thumbs up.👍👍

William tested my patience, that is for sure.. His number one priority is buying drugs .. I did go looking for him the next day, but didn't find him ... Thanks for watching

I gave I think 1 or 2 dollars to a homeless woman once she was so happy. One lady she got a quarter from someone at a grocery store she was so thankful for that 1 quarter
