I found an abounded black bird nest they fell out of the nest so I decided to put them back and placed a small camera on top of the nest to see if the mother would ever come back and it never did so I took them and I feed them uncooked oat meal I soak them till soft and place it on a small stick and feed the bird and it’s the cutest and the most heartwarming thing ever!

hey do you have any tips for when they are a bit older i found a abandons bird outside it seems like they can’t fly and they didn’t start moving until we brought him in

They are most likely to be young fledglings and it's normal for them to be sitting on the ground looking as if they've been abandoned but the parent birds will be watching them close by and are teaching them to fly..so the worst thing you can do is touch them or remove them..you can try returning them to where you found them but may be too late, so you'll have to take them to your local vets or rescue centre..you should always leave birds unless they're obviously injured..hope that helps..good luck

Bobtoo07 thank you and yes i’ll check it out but i found it almost half dead on the road due to eat and dehydration a car almost ran them over we tried to put them on the grass but we they still didn’t move they were extremely extremely hot. so right now we’re just trying to get it to cool down which has worked so far but he or she still seems weak

Hi.. that's the information I could find from various websites I looked up...they seemed to suggest it was ok to not feed through the night but every half hour during the day..the chick shouldn't accept food if it feels full up.

It’s not overfeeding it. They get fed every 30 minutes anyway in the wild

You only need to feed every 4 hours

He will die then,they don’t eat veggies. And that’s not the point. Buy meat for him,not for you. But I do suggest finding a local bird care person around that saves baby birds because usually only experienced people can save baby birds. I know from experience since I have a blackbird and song thrush in care right now. Baby birds are harder to take care of than you’d think.

Bread has very little nutrition..they need to eat meat for protein...cat food is the best substitute for worms & insects.
