    Hi Ria I use all the ingredients that you used minus the chicken i also add macaroni because my children don’t like dumplings only i eat dumplings enjoy your soup i also make vegetarian soup today enjoy your week and stay safe bye.

    Keron Brooks Have never been able to enjoy other types of soup because of the delicious flavors you get by browning the chicken--my mom made it this way and is my preferred method. I had no idea other ppl from Trinidad did not do it this way!

    Watching from Accra Ghana. Your soup is quite similar to ours except we don’t add the cassava and dumplings. Look for African chicken soup from Ghana. I’m going to try this tomorrow. I love the idea

    Delicious , 2 things I would recommend is to add some Kerry gold butter to the dumpling mixture and some organic coconut milk .

    That is one beautiful soup!. I have always wanted a soup receipe that did not need chicken/beef stock. You made your own!. I have to try this!!. Perhaps you can do a vegetable only soup sometime. Thank you very much. I love your channel, you can really cook.

    wow - a really neat chunky soup - I'm willing to give this one a try - maybe not with all your ingredients, some of which you implied as being optional, and add some others of my preference. What I liked most is that the water was added in toward to end of the cooking process to make it a soup, which would have made the ingredients retain some of its individual taste rather than the usual watered down taste, I have subscribed to your channel ... it is an excellent recipe and reference tool - thanks for sharing

    Darn that looks good. I love a good stewed chicken soup with dumplings. Glad to see this on your page. My family makes it pretty much the same way; just with a couple different ingredients and we season and marinate the chicken before stewing. As a side note, you might consider using a potato peeler; I find it reduces stress on my fingers and hand. I was hurting for ya fingers 😀

A few weeks ago we did some intense food shopping and pandemic prepping so we have enough supplies for a month or more-running low on fresh fruits, eggs, veggies and provisions, so we will try to venture out next week when things are calmer -or else do without.     Does anyone know what type brown sugar is used? Demerara, turbinado, something else? My husband says it is not the same sugar as I use in baking and I cannot figure out what to buy. Help?!!

    I've always stewed my chicken for chicken soup because I hate to see the meat white in my pot...looks raw and unappetizing... That's just me.. Thanks for sharing this strategy for a great chicken soup.

    freeze it in bulk or ice cube portions or you can blend with vinegar and store bottled in the fridge. (slightly different flavour with vinegar)

    Zacky Wright yes towards the end of the video I included a clip -it was sealed with my vacuum sealer to be frozen for a rainy, lazy or sick day!
