Here I answer the most common question about this build, "What did it cost?".
I definitely missed some items, so it's not perfect.

$16,000 is a bargain for a quality trailer, where you know things aren't going to fall off or fall apart like more expensive trailers.
Thank you for this. Gives me a rounded figure to expect. Very thorough in the short time of the vid. 👍
Congratulations on your build. $16k plus your time. What a bargain! Happy new year. Thanks for sharing this breakdown.
Such fantastic questions!!!
Very nice build, thanks for the video and your price breakdown. Was the trailer new? Where are they located? We’re you able to get the trailer and the underside of the plywood undercoated? What do you plan for heating and AC? Can you tell us the weight of the trailer pre and post build? Thank you very much. There are are lot of good ideas in your build to consider.
I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere before and I noticed this on another one of your videos. I'm pretty sure the trap under the sink is considered an 'S' trap and has a tendency to siphon off and be left unsealed. As a non-camper owner, that raises another question for me - when bumping down the road etc. I'd expect any trap be it S or P to have the potential to lose their seal. Is it common practice to put a bit of water down the drain once you get where you're going and periodically as you travel down the road? Would suck to open a camper to a room full of grey or black water gas :P
Super nice! Any idea what the final weight ended up being?
$7,700 for a cargo trailer? that's a lot I build them

Where can I buy cheaper

@@spinningedge8790 Depends on where you buy them, thats a 7x14TA, and even if I pick one up in Elkhart Indiana where most of the towns main revenue is building and selling trailers and campers, my cost would be $5,900-6,300, but then if you have to ship it, the delivery fee can be another $1,000. I plan on getting a 6x12SA for $3,900 range since I can just drive to Elkhart to get mine, and save a few dollars. The other MASSIVE savings is hitting all the "salvage" stores in the area selling scratch and dent RV parts. Like that black water tank I can get for $25, windows $20 each, paneling $8 a sheet...and lots more deals like that. Hell I picked up a 3 burner stove with an oven for $75 that's stainless. Hopefully later this week I'll be picking up a trailer, plus hitting up Newsomes RV surplus and Handshoe's Flea Market & Salvage for a ton of parts that I still need. If anyone is REALLY going to buy, and build one, it would be worth while to go to Elkhart to get the trailer, then have a list of these scratch and dent stores to buy most of the big ticket items. I bought a stove/oven, four windows, sink, two aluminum wheels and tires, plus a teardrop trailer sized door. All for only $225 total, and that's about $1,800 worth of stuff, with a 85% savings on just the first round of parts... then the saving your getting on the trailer, and you now have an empty trailer to haul back all the goodies you picked up to build it out with. Georgia is another hot spot of cargo trailer manufactures, where you can buy them without the delivery fees, and potential additional price markups.
Meeting with Interstate on a 6 x 10 with a quote tomorrow on a custom build (rv options from factory)....wanted to ask if you know of any real advantage or difference between the squared/cornered roof version or the rounded roof version of trailer. I like the flat roof for putting on solar panels, etc....but i am looking at rounded one and maybe just not putting anything on roof because the rounded is one is a solid sheet of aluminum.(which seems like a lesser leak point feature) whats your opinion? Great videos 👍
What was the trailers weight at the end of the project?
Have you thought to put axles below the springs … ie … springs on top of axles … some even add spacers … welded
Looks great . subscribed
Nice video. Thanks

I have the same make but in a 6x14 that I'm buildin and living in. Did you add the door handle/lock yourself? I need to add that. I followed your build and use it as a guide...is there a video of you installing the handle...I'm in So. Cal

Yeah I didn't get good video of adding the door handle. It was pretty straightforward with a standard handle

@@befreebuilds I pulled back the plywood and saw the metal and stopped. I know it's straight forward but I was adding a T Handle but I want the style you have with the dead bolt. I'll buy it and go from there.
Nice but expensive

Not Really "expensive" relative to the market. Most small toy haulers or campers will run 15-35K depending on age/features.

@@ZakKrenzer oh
$16,000 but way better quality than a Jayco, grey wolf, or Coleman camper. Those are all built so cheap and crappy.

We are purchasing a travel trailer in the next year. I love research and using our hard earned money to its full potential. This is a superior product compared to the ones that have workers throwing units together. There should be class action suits everywhere and demands of quality products.
