Cargo Camper - Vinyl Wall Covering

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, after a long break, I continue my cargo trailer to camper conversion with some wall coverings. I'm gluing on vinyl flooring to give it a faux wood look.
I'm no professional so any input or feedback would be great. Hope you enjoy watching my build!

For the water heater, maybe a removable wood cover (or frame with door) that has some upper cabinets (top 1/3 or 1/4) continuing across the front to the far wall by the door, all stained that lovely color to match your table top.

I used your idea in my trailer! Looks awsome but what a pain in the butt with the glue lol I instaled the window after, the inside ring fit perfectly! Thanks for your idea! Good job.

Thank you for your easy build videos. I'm SO nervous to do this. I have a trailer same size for temporary storage. Now going to empty it out and start to convert.

Smart of you to use linoleum on the walls! looks good, easy to clean, hardly any kind of maintenance and it'll last for almost ever! Not to mention that it's also light weight and inexpensive.

I like the look! Certainly easier than staining or painting. I'll probably remove the interior window trim prior to hanging to ease the installation around the windows. Great job and looking forward to the next installment!

I wish I could remove the window trim, but it's what's holding the window in :/

Very nice! In my 7 x 14 - we went with self-stick wall paper BUT... it didn't stick very well and had to use 'glue' as well :)

Consider this idea stolen... Looks really nice. Just curious about going vertical with the pattern? Personal preference only, I think that would look cool horizontally too. Great build! I'm in the process of "updating" my trailer and don't like the idea of pain or stain in an enclosed space.

Thanks! I think this turned out surprisingly better than I would have guessed. Glad to share it! The orientation was mostly chosen because it was easier to roll out this way. I'm sure it'd look great horizontally too.

How long do you wait for it to dry before applying the vinyl on the wall

I noticed you cut the supports behind new window did you weld in supports around the edges or are you using the plywood to keep the support somehow? Also why not vinyl then cut out window?

I hope this isn't a silly question but why did you have to drill holes in the window frame before installing each screw? Are you drilling through the wood around the window so the screw goes into the window frame?

  • @befreebuilds

    @befreebuilds

I think these screws were meant to go into pre-drilled holes. They had a lot of trouble getting into the wood without em.

This is the glue I used: www.lowes.com/pd/TEC-Stick-N-Stay-Pack-Sheet-Vinyl-and-Carpet-Tile-Flooring-Adhesive-1-Quart/50064107 The material was just rolled vinyl flooring

Obviously your skill level is well above 99% of the people that watch your videos. Perhaps in the future you can mention what material you're using or other professional. Advice while you do your builds.
