Kudos to you for tackling such a product. That is a lot of work. I couple things you may want to look at re-addressing is the roof penetration and shower corners. The metal tape is typically not rated for exterior and the uv rays will break it down. Also, because of the unsmooth surface it creates from the wrinkles, you won't be able to seal it properly and sealant probably won't bond completely.. It will begin to leak after a few trips. And since you didn't use the corner moldings with the FRP, the constant movement of the trailer while moving down the road is going to cause those corners to separate frequently. If you used 100% silicone or OSI, that may help minimize the cracking, but you will still notice you will need to recaulk those areas often. Not looking to criticize, just help. I have done a few of these projects and learned from experience. Keep at it. I am interested to see it all complete. I like the design so far. Happy building!

Great points! I'm glad I did the Redguard. Overall, not really crazy about the FRP in general.

I worked in fiberglass so get a balloons or anything to make static electricity it will pick up all the fiberglass off your arms

Good work on your build!! I agree a piece of pvc pipe as a spacer would be a good idea. It can be manipulated with a heat gun and stretched with wooden plugs to get the right diameter if needed. Also the metal tape might not last to well and if you used a silicone product Dicor lap sealant will not stick. You have done so much work it would be a shame to have leaks in your trailer!!

So, I'm in the research phase. Let me throw some ideas at you for panel substitutions: 1). insulation foam covered in epoxy. The guys over at Stone Coat Countertops demonstrate this all the time as a shower surround. It's very waterproof and you can make it look like natural stone...also lightweight and flexible for travel. You'd still do all the red guarding but that would be the skin. I don't know what would happen if you accidentally threw a sharp elbow into the wall in such a tight space. 2). I saw a van lifer do pool paint. It looked really cool.

Yea I def wouldn't want something that could be so easily punctured personally! If I were to do it again, I think I would consider doing the same thing. I couldn't find a better product even though I hated working with FRP.

THat’s a nice idea, but what happens if you accidentally have to go because you have diarrhea? I don’t think you’re going to have much to say if you have a lot of water mixed in with he poop…..It always surprise me to hear the comment “We’ll pee, but won’t worry about Poo….
