Agreed. The Mooney was my go to aircraft going all the way back to 'A Century of Flight'. These days I fly another Carenado offering. The quirky, oh so fun to fly, Cessna 337 Skymaster. Thanks for the vid.

Still holds up! Such a good plane. Carenado may scare some folks off but they really got this bird right. Not as advanced as the study level addons, but as good as anything in the next tier.

My dad owned a Bonanza, then switched to a Mooney. He said he never could land the Mooney right - bought a boat.

This aircraft was great when it first came out. Nice graphics, typical Carenado flight model (Carenado FM are always a bit generic but no major flaws either) and a good price. Then it got broken by a game update and was close to unflyable for 12 months. Apparently they eventually got around to fixing it, but by then myself and many others had moved on to better stuff like the JF Arrows, BS Bonanza and later the A2A Comanche.

This 210%. The Mooney was my favorite aircraft for months, the sounds especially were fantastic, and when the autopilot broke it got shelved for a year. By which point, I had "upgraded" to the Comanche.

I love this plane! And I’ve never been disappointed with any Carenado plane. But I’m not a purist. Most of the planes I fly I wouldn’t know how the real aircraft fly’s anyway. I’m okay with that……usually.

Even if it flies by the numbers like a2a products something a sim will never give you is feel even with the best VR headset. Have you done steep turns irl? Feels amazing doesn’t it?

Wow, your controls work very smooth on the takeoffs. What type of controller hardware are you using may I ask? I need to upgrade my controller and trying to figure out some good options. Thank you.

Also, in regards to your comment about it not reacting to turbulence appropriately, I beg to differ....I fly out of my home airport in Custer, SD and get lots of turbulence from the Black Hills and it moves around quite a bit

I really loved Carenado when I first started with the Sim. I have all but 2 of the Carenado products released for MSFS 2020. However, the likes of A2A, Just Flight, and many others have essentially put them out to pasture. It doesn't help that Carenado's PC-12 is, to this day, a broken mess. There's still PLENTY of aircraft from Carenado's portfolio (which they apparently wanted to rebuild and release to 2020 in it's entirety) that I'd like to see, but with the working on 2024 and having not released anything "in-house" since June of 2023.....I doubt we'll see anything from them for a while.

Carenado should do the textures for other developers.

Dude, I’m starting to think you’re just making content for me at this point. I owned a M20J. In fact that’s how I acquired enough hours to switch from flying helicopters to the airlines.

I try to avoid anything that Carenado makes. I do love their 207.

Actually the flight dynamics/modeling on this particular airplane are pretty close to spot on to the real thing. My neighbor owned this exact make/model and I did fly it a few times. The performance and handling are pretty close and I can match the speeds as the real airplane too. Unfortunately my neighbor died right after takeoff in his Ovation due to engine failure right after an overhaul. The gears were not up to spec in the Continental engine. He crashed in a neighborhood near Flying Cloud airport in Minnesota in the early 2000's. I really loved that plane and glad to have it on the flight sim 👍
