Tbh it wouldn’t do much for Sid if he left and won again. He’s already one of the greatest. What does another cup add to his legacy and would that be worth him spending his whole career as a pen. The answer is it doesn’t compare. He is already the top player in the cap era ever imo so leaving and winning another wouldn’t change much and would only make him miss out on the achievement of starting and finishing ur career with one club

It is more impressive to win a another tile with a different franchise if only win with the same team it can always be said you were just in the right place at the right time.

Iunno about Crosby taking more money on his next deal. Don't get me wrong, the dude deserves it more than anyone but at this juncture in his life I think he just wants to continue to be dominant and win hockey games and make a run for another cup. He has made a lot of money in his career even at the steal of a contract that he has had. But what is an extra 1 or 2 million going to really do to improve his life at this point? I bet he takes the same hit at 8.7M for 3 more years. If he wins the olympic gold medal in 2026 then the final year of his contract will be a farewell tour and he will go down as one of the greats of this game. I hope to see him again either as a GM or a coach but I am not sure he has it in him to do that.

Hate to say I agree, would love to see Sid finish his career in the playoffs with a shot at the cup, he's still UNREAL. I mean the dude is top 5 all time and I can easily see the pens just missing over and over again until he hangs them up. Suuucks big time

U sign 2 contracts for the same amount (granted one of them was for a dozen years) that says to me ur'e playing for the love of the game and not for money.

Sid is great but if you're combining all era's into one Mt. Rushmore, for me, it's Gretzky, Orr, Howe, Roy. Howe is Mr. Hockey, Orr and Roy changed the way their positions are played, while being considered the best to ever play their positions and Gretzky is the goat, who changed how the entire game was played and because of him generations of players all became better.

If mcdavid dominates the league like this for 12+ years he boots Orr of my Mt. Rushmore not Crosby. IMO based on the league he came into when he did he is my best of all time. Especially considering what players were allowed to do to him and the injuries

The difference between Crosby and Matthew's. Crosby was never the highest paid player in any season... mathews will most likely have been the highest paid player on 3 different occasions.
