I like Dave! I also love watching this channel now. I just wish I had warmer shop temps so I can weld more on my '57 Bug.

Dave without a doubt is a true artist. Does he start with a drawing,..or does he have an idea and he starts to cut, piece and weld? Most artists I know can see the finished work in their head way before they even start. Great content Randy,..keep it coming.... PF

Thanks for bringing us these. What amazing craftsmanship! Randy I love your dedication to finish them to a stock appearance. I don't think the average person realizes that putting in aftermarket or hot rod parts is the easy way out.

His work reminds me of that of Ian Rousell’s. Full Custom Garage on MAVTV. He’s a VW guy as well.

I really like how he incorporated Karmann Ghia decklid air vents. They look so right there.

you should make a model of the roof and body of this car out of fiber glass , then one could put the fiber glass roof on a steel body

I'd love to know more about how to adjust the body lines between the upper rear deck and the lower rear deck. The upper portion (from a front trunk) has different body lines from the engine lid. I've chewed on this for a long time but I'm not a body man. Can't figure it out. This is my favorite Beetle of all time. Been in the Beetle hobby since 1990 or so.

The body lines are hammered in place with a special die after the top and bottom parts are sectioned together. A lot of metal added and taken away...and then a million blows with the hammer and the die to get the center ridge and design to all look right.
