Carbureted Subaru Sambar Getting a Custom Exhaust From Japan and It Sounds Good!
Hey guys! Tested out the carbureted Sambar with a custom exhaust and no back flow / power loss here! Did have to lose the engine cover though. We like to run our Sambars naked here anyways, so it's all good! Here is the link below that I mentioned for ATX Customs exhaust until we can start producing our own versions. Thanks!

This is good info. I live near Asheville, NC, and we have a lot of black bears that are sometimes destructive. For that one reason alone, I'm wary of considering running coverless. I wonder if a vented cover and tweaking the design of the exhaust to fit the muffler behind the cover can solve this problem. Thoughts?
what are the wheel dimensions on the white sambar at 5:07? they look like 15s, whats the width and offset if you know by chance (: i love all your videos! keep it up!

I was thinking you could do an old Supertrapp and adjust as necessary for noise and backpressure? Also you guys need to build hitches...with covers lol...?

ya that supertrap idea was brought up by scott a long time ago, but i just wasnt a fan of the look. the baffles work the same i think and you dont see them. but the supertrap would definitely bring the old bug or hot rod vibe to it tho!
This made me laugh way more than it should have....
What size pipe and flange did you use?

pipe is 2" and the flange i think is universal 2" as well

Yes! They should be the motors so an exhaust for these should probably fit that truck as well. Search Japan auctions for one or get a wiruswin

hmmm. honestly don't really notice a huge difference. i was mainly going for sound and look with the setup but if i had a dyno close by i'd test them.

@@androdiehl6596 ohhh this one isnt the squid pipe, this was just the stock manifold with the muffler from Japan. Another video is the "squid pipe" lol. And yes got the headers! Haven't even opened the box, been too busy to do anything with them. Soon hopefully I can get one of them to fit on the daihatsu midget. thanks for sending those over and working with ipunkz on that

@OhKeiGarage no problem man, it sucks I couldn't get them to fit, front driveshaft and motor mount were giving me problems. But I got a sambar coming so I'll be doing another header from ipunkz cause atleast I know it fits

slim to none here in washington.... LOL. Tweekers out driving around with no plates all day in this lovely state. But honestly, idk. I have my plates back there still so it hasn't been an issue.

@@OhKeiGarage if you ever get scratches/dents on the Sambar, Do as the Japanese and spray it with regular white spray paint can; it prevents rust and makes it look un-damaged from a distance
