I'm going to be doing this same thing to mine. Lmao it's about time I work on it. Just I need to redo the resin on mine which is going to suck for me since it's not just the clear coat. The previous owner sanded too much and now you can feel the fibers so first will be sand a slightly more in other areas and then redo the resin then wet sand then clear.

What grit are you using? Im doing this to my is300, I have a carbon fiber hood. I was about to start using my power sander but I don't wanna mess up the carbon fiber.

I wish he said what he used. I'm going to use a p500. I don't want to cut into the weave. I'd rather take longer than risk running the hood. I'm going to stop at p800. The clear will still have enough tooth to stick to the hood and flow. Too smooth and the clear won't have anything to adhere to. I may be wrong but that's my logic. Let me know what you think?

You’re supposed to put resin over carbon then do the clear. That’s why it looks so weird

Living in California with all that sun using a 1K clear will not make you a happy man . I'm sorry but that's6 going to look exactly like it did when you bought it. Good work but next time get a two part clear it will last a lifetime if prepped right

Perhaps but it was in rough shape to begin with but didn't break the weave. Definitely alot better and came out good regardless at the end imo
