I have that same 10L ultrasonic cleaner. You really need to keep the basket in there and don't let parts touch the bottom. messes with the transducers. I put clean water in the machine and then use gallon size zip lock bags with the cleaner in it. saves on cleaner. Just a thought. Nice work!

Nice job cleaning them up Shawn - definitely looking much better although I'm actually quite surprised how relatively clean they looked from the start for being 40 years old! I can't believe how fast time flies as I was also born in the 80s and seem to be quickly approaching the big 4-0 ... LOL! Anyways, looking forward to seeing the carbs back in the bike and hearing it fire up (assuming that's the plan)! I actually have a 1980 Yamaha XS850 (triple cylinder) as well as the 1981 Yamaha XS400 (that I won from the B&B giveaway a year ago). Unfortunately when I drove down to PA to pick up the XS400, I took it for a test ride and it broke down halfway through the test ride. Sean was kind enough to buy and send me all the parts to fix it, which I did briefly. I rode it once which even though it ran, it was rough. After that it completely stopped working and I now have difficulty even turning the engine over - because it's a 1981, it has both kick and electric start. I picked the XS850 up really cheap about two years ago with a seized engine and is one of my future projects to hopefully free up the motor and get it running again! I have way too many projects right now and need to stop buying projects and finally finish them one by one - I can't help it, it's a sickness and I just can't say no to a good deal! After all, I LIKE BIKE!!! Hahaha LOL! At this point I believe I have 8 or 9 bikes total and only one of them is currently running so I need to get another one running in case my one and only bike breaks down I still have a working spare!

Yeah, good to focus efforts on one at a time. My head starts spinning when I just from project to project and then I forget where I was and what I was doing on the first bike! No way! You won a bike from B&B? That’s awesome! I won a pair of M1 moto gloves at one point. They are a good group of guys!

That's clean? hmmmm. If you don't check the fuel enrichment jet path in the bowls and the Pilot circuit, bad things can happen and it will be hard to start

He wabts 1100.00 for it. And i wanted to know what you thought about it. Im sure that's pretty hard with out pics lol I wouldnt even give it a 2nd look with out your videos.
