caravan repairs damp damage part 1 of 2
Whats up today been busy repairing my ACE Jubilee Vicroy 5 berth caravan. Picked up damp ingress in one corner which spread into the rear wall. Decided to take on the repairs myself during the lockdown period of 2020. This is part 1 of 2. If you have a similar project and need some advise then please comment. Cheers

This is the best video I’ve found on this topic. Thank you so much!
Great job, well done.
At last a KZreadr doing it right instead of saying, ahh that will "hide" the mess.
Get yourself a multitool with cutter and scraper tips. Safer on fingers. Gets in the awkward bits.
This is one of the best video’s on these repairs. We’ve actually got the exact same van and looks like we’ve got damp damage on the rear lower corners. Hoping to tackle it in the next month or so, thanks for the video.
Brings back memories of the rot we found in our secondhand 'van. There was no smell and no bubbling to warn us. It was only when we removed the cracked shower tray did we find the rotten walls and frame. Somebody had actually boarded over the damage to match the rest of the 'van ! I'm normally Mr Optimism but after feeling *'totally had*' my first reaction was let's get it to the tip. In those days there were no online tutorials but thanks to my clever father in law, we repaired it very much in the way you did. We used to laugh that once the 'van was fixed and put back together - it was stronger, heavier and better made than when it left the factory. Message then : (1) Buyer beware and (2) never give up :-)

hi love your video. I'm in same situation as you mine is the front left side panel gone on mine. my boards look a lot worse than yours so think most of the timber will need doing. I'm going to go for it thanks to you..

Best of luck. Check the structural timbers and replace with new treated timbers. The big thing you will notice is how fast the timbers will dry out once you have taken away the plastic coated ply boards. Cheers
Very good video, doing mine atmo
I know this was three years ago but PUT BATTERIES IN IT
Brilliant clip of film, well done. Hope all goes well.
hello. i got a caravan which has a leaks all over. can i strip the walls to the shell and replace some wooden frame ? how is frame attached to the body shell? thank you
O’Leary are the best about 100% they can source you anything 😂 I needed a replacement sky view blind from a bessacar e660 no one could get it without getting the whole trim and unit O’Leary got it lol saved me £620 and charged me £80
Change the smoke alarm battery. Ffs
Caravanning used to be a cheap way of getting away for a few weeks, last summer we went to the West Country and we're shocked at how much it was to pitch up, none of the sites we visited were less than £25 per night, these were all crappy camp sites with very poor facilities
What type of adhesive should I use to fix the new plywood to the polystyrene? PS loved the video, very helpful.

Gorilla glue, the brown foamy one, it expands and fills any gaps too

@@jessF hi the panels were about £80 £40 each and you have to buy two minimum. Plus sealants say a total of £100 plus your time but it was a few years ago and costs of materials are up. Cheerz
The problem with these vans is that in the factory there are bums on the end of a silicone gun who just don’t even care . I’m seriously thinking of not buying a van now . Way to risky .
These caravan manufactures should be ashamed of themselves - really pathetic these designs that allow so much water and rot to destroy your van from the inside out
Hot Daddy 😉
Got bored, too drawn out ☹️
