Car Washing Product Series: E2 - Microfiber Madness Incredimitt (Used as a Pad)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I've recently transitioned from synthetic wool to microfiber for washing. I don't think any company have made a good pad yet, so I am using the Incredimitt with the sleeve folding inside. I tell the story in this video.

Cuffs on most mitts will lead to marring so a pad is far superior and thus agree with your assessment. Five years later you definitely look much healthier and less stressed with life! Thank you for your contribution to the industry, I appreciate it man!

gr8 video A pad the size of the incredimitt mitt would be the mecca of wash mediums I think. I wondered if they were worried about how the foam core of a pad fairs with age. so used a smaller pad to try and alleviate the sort of floppy pad syndrome that can happen. the pad starts of stiff but after about 5 or so washes softens up nicely and then seems to stay that way. you hit the nail on the head I think with the cyclone comparison.. The cyclone pulls the fine dirt (like the black grime you see as opposed to the chunks of debry) in its structure more.. And being a 70/30 microfiber blend it holds on to that dirt. cleans very well. The incredi range doesnt absord dirt into its strand structure as much for me, which makes sense as its a much higher polyester blend.. this gives it an advantage when it comes to cleaning the pad or mitt out for me, even if it gets soiled it comes out the bucket looking so very very clean.. I cant see measure or gauge or detect any disadvantage in terms of does it removing less dirt (just not able to tell because the amount of dirt on well maintained car panels is low).. If we were comparing them cleaning a filthy caravan with a think film of dirt you might be able to see a disadvantage.. But in terms of cleaning relatively small levels of dirt of a car gently, I think MM are onto something with this high polyester/viscose blend they use.

Pads are easier to drop by accident on the ground. Extra security of the mitt when I'm in a hurry is nice. If not in a hurry and can be real careful, I'll use it like a pad.

I use a mitt due to nerve damage, as well as baby hands. Both of those make me more prone to drop things sometimes, especially when they're larger.

I think that having many different ways to wash and clean and polish cars is the key to making and having a successful experience. Having multiple tools in your arsenal is probably the best thing for you as a detailer. The better quality tools you have is better for your success.

The microfiber looks awesome, im looking to step away from my adams syn wool pad to microfiber pad. Im not a fan of mitts either except for the wheels. It would be super cool to have microfiber in a tan color so we could see tiny particles or dirt that gets trapped. Noticed my syn wool can trap particles in the wool deep inside.

I really like the incredmitt :/ I lean in way more with the pad because I have to use that extra pressure to hold it against that paint to stop it from falling. With a mitt, it’s not going to fall on the ground, so I can use way less pressure

Yup. 100%. Especially with the incredipad XL. Thing gets so damn heavy and slippery on the door sections. definitely caused some marring because of the pressure I had to apply to keep it from falling. Just did a light polish and re applied my coating. Went back to my regular incredimitt, no issues.

I agree with . Also mitt can be used as a pad if you flip the end of it inside but a pad can not be used as a mitt.

I'm with you my friend...who uses a mitt?? I want a pad. :) Currently using the Adam's synthetic wool and it is working great, but have been wondering of late about the microfiber solution. I'll have to give it a try and see if it fits my needs. Thanks again for this latest series...great info!

Hi Matt, in the video you said that the incredipad is less plush than the incredimitt. I thought they both were made from the same material. Is the incredimitt more dense than the incredipad hence the more plush feeling? Thanks.

I agree with respect to the mitt, it is not very practical in the real world but it looks good on paper.

Is there any reason you didn't go for a chenille wash pad? I believe after a test of all in pro detailers they were found to be the safest. Keen to hear your thoughts as I'm wanting to get a new wash pad. I discounted them many years ago because I simply thought they looked too strange. Now they are back on my radar after forensic detailing spoke highly of them.

Idk about you but pads to me feel awkward and I run the risk of smacking my nails off the paint and I feel I have to use more pressure with a pad when washing the sides as to not drop it on the ground so in my personal opinion the mit is the way to go and yes I always flip it after every panel The having to grab it and swivel it on my hand helps me remember if I’ve already flipped

Will the Adam’s scratch if I have soft paint, but use 4-5 wash mitts (instead of 2 bucket with one pad)?

Always felt the same about these wash mitts. Just feels unnatural and weird to use them in the way they're supposed to be used. You know, with having your hand in them. I'd rather put my hand on the outside which makes them much more convenient to use (especially when flipping them over which is just ass more often than not with your hand in them) and it additionally creates a nice buffer between your hand and the paint when it comes to applying pressure.

Is funny how they design the mitt then always all detailers use it as a pad!? Including myself, be using the microfiber mitt sorry I mean pad for almost 2 years now still 1 of the best around. The Adam's pad is great for picking up dirt but sucks when I try to get the dirt off!!? Everyone having this problem?

EDIT: just saw that u do a similar technique after reading your replies lol. I’d like to hear your feedback if that method scratches the car (multiple wash mitts with one bucket) Initial reply: In terms of scratching/no scratching, u think it would be more ideal to use Adam’s wash pad with the one bucket method with 4-5 of them. To Let the my laundry machine do the work and not worry about the two bucket’s inability to release dirt? You think this technique will still scratch soft paint ;(. Just curious because I ordered a couple of the Adam’s wash pads during the Black Friday sale. Kinda worried after hearing their cons lol
