Fun fact for those who don't know, the background to why is actually safety! If a large group of people would march in sync the synchronized shockwaves from the simultaneous footsteps would actually risk destabilizing some bridges. There are better ways to explain this but, basically that'd be why!

  • @coffeeguyd

I think many militaries do this. It's basically just good practice based on physics.

No military marches on bridges, also tanks have to go over one by one. That's because if many people march in synch, they cause resonant vibrations in the bridge and becomes strong and strong to the point of risking the bridge to break. There have been historical examples of generals ignoring that and losing a lot of soldiers because the bridge would break. It's similar how you get a swing to swing higher and higher by applying force close to its frequency of resonance.

The ban on washing the car at home in Germany has less to do with the soap than with possible oil and gasoline residues that can get into the water. Car washes must have appropriate filter systems. It is also implemented differently by local authorities. Using only clean water is also not permitted everywhere.

In Brazil it is ILLEGAL to have a self-serving Gas Station. It was tried once, but due to lobby from syndicates it got banned and forbidden. The argument to forbid it was "security", because "regular folks wouldn't have the proper training to pick up and use the gas pump" and whatever And about marching over a bridge, that is forbidden I think pretty much everywhere in the world. Although not always, having a bunch of people marching over a bridge could ressonate with its natural vibration frequency, to the point it builds up so much it will start to collapse. Many bridges have broke appart, not because of marching, but because of HEAVY WINDS ressonating with it and making it swing more and more until collapsing. So, it is NOT recomended or allowsed, usually 😁

In Sweden we have that same law about not washing the car at home. And yes, it's for the environment, there are a lot of chemicals in those products that should not be left out in the nature. And it's not hard to find prepared places where you can do it. The Swedish girl exaggerated about the alcohol sales limit. Anything below 3.5% you can buy in normal stores. But yes, we always plan ahead. And also, every swede have at least one bottle of something strong at home, for those emergencys. :)

The no marching on bridges is a very ancient law. Romans had that law. The Greek and Roman armies would cross bridges breaking formation and walking normally. A group of soldiers marching all in close order stomping their feet at the same time would collapse wood and stone bridges due resonance effect.

in Sweden, "disturbing the peace" law is very wide, the cops can put so much under there, no one is allowed to break it, so if neighbor is too loud on Friday at, let us say 10pm, call the cops and it goes under "disturbing the peace" same thing as dancing in the street, it can be seen as breaking the peaceful nature by people

I googled some funny laws in the US (don't know if they are true). - In Alaska, it's explicitly forbidden to wake a sleeping bear to take a photo with it. - Mourners in Massachusetts aren't allowed to eat more than three sandwiches at a wake. - It's illegal to walk backwards while simultaneously eating a donut in Marion, Ohio. - Citizens of Carmel, New York can't eat their ice cream while standing on the sidewalk. - In Memphis, Tennessee, women aren't technically allowed to drive unless a man walks ahead of them waving a red flag. - In Las Vegas, driving a car is still technically illegal. Before they became the primary mode of transportation for the vast majority of people, the city of sin made driving them illegal because the noise they made would scare the horses. The craziest thing about this legal statute, though, is that it's still on the books because it'd be too costly to repeal. Naturally, everyone just ignores it.

Wait! Isn't the No phone in Bank a worldwide thing??? I didn't know that. Here in Mexico you're definitely not allowed to use your phone in a bank, apparently because a lot of people try using them to gather information for bank thefts or something. I've never thought of it as a "weird rule". It is pretty common watching people being yelled at for pulling their phones in a Bank just to answer a message or something. And for the "what if I need my phone to do de banking?", I mean... you typically do that with a bank employee watching you or helping you all the time, so that is fine.

In the states of New Jersey and Oregon you cannot pump your own gas. In Connecticut, the legal definition of a pickle is it must bounce when dropped. The bridge law was valid 100+ years ago when bridges were made of wood and not as strong as modern steel & concrete bridges. Soldiers were ordered even in the US to break step over bridges so it would not resonate or induce too much vibration on the bridge to make it collapse. Some towns in the US have rules around which color you can paint your house, especially in historic districts in New England. Want to maintain the historic / quaint look of the town.

"Why are we putting some animals as more precious than other animals?" Well it's quite simple: They're friendly, they're smart, and they're helpful - One of those, and usually all 3, which makes perfect sense a symbiotic species relationship. It makes no sense to slaughter the animal that helps you hunt for food, helps ease your worries, or protects your family when needs be. Especially when there are much better options. It's quite simply about committing the taboo of breaking a symbiotic contract, and betraying the other party.

Our small intestine is much longer & raw meat staying inside it for like 24 hours creates several bacteria. that's why doctors often prescribe veg diet for fast recovery. You digestive system needs to work 10 times harder to digest meat rather than plants. If you would often notice that a meat eater cannot eat spicy food that much bcz it upsets their stomach, bcz consuming so much meat affects the effects of acids present in our stomach, so for that they consume beers a lot, and sometimes even alcohol. IDK where did you get that thing like Humans have same body system as carnivores, but it's not true. Our digestive system is more similar to herbivores, not to carnivores. You can put anything in your mouth, but not in your stomach. Sea animals are still better than Land animals bcz they are consist of more fluid than flesh. Because they’re intelligent, because they are pets? Pigs are smarter than dogs while goats, sheep and cows could challenge dogs in terms of intelligence and they actually make good pets. Why are you not okay with only eating dogs? Because of your culture and how you were brought up. Are you saying killing is only wrong if you have sentimental feelings for the victim? What, you think you’re the center of the universe? The truth is, killing any animals is exactly equivalent in morality. In Germany you can't have your breasts visible in cars but can you in squares and beaches?

A few months ago, they made a new law, before, women weren't allowed to be topless outside of nudist beaches, but now they changed it

What they say in the video is wrong. There is no law that says you can or can't drive naked. There is a general law that says that you cannot be naked if other people are disturbed by it. So in a car or at the beach it's probably fine. There is no exact rule where it is okay, the judge will decide if someone complains.

Why the hell the first and second weird laws are about Spain and Italy when there's no one from there in the panel? And why the hell are fines in Spain issued in British pounds? 🤨 8:38 - "Only 1 store can sell alchol and govermant control": what's alchol and govermant and why is only one store allowed to sell whatever that is?

There are several videos that don't include Brazil. Those videos usually don't get as many views (like, less than half).

Brazil is one of the countries (maybe the third) that are most active on internet, the first ones are USA and India. This means A LOT of views Also Brazil is the biggest country in South America and the one that speaks Portuguese, so if you want to attract any other countries that speaks portuguese call Brazil 😏
