    Hey, love watching your kestrel hunt the way you do. I'm a falconer from east kentucky. What would be a little more catchy is if you would do like an outro like total number of game took that day etc. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming love to watch you 2 hunt!!

    I'd still recommend a red tail first. Small errors in weight control will kill a kestrel. They'll only make a red tail grumpy.

    @@ophiocordyceps_ Well, see, I meant evil in the sense of being tough, I've hit them straight on in the vitals with a .22 pellet gun, and had them still fly off without a head shot, and they're evil in their fighting style, I saw a Merlin kill one once, and it darn near stabbed out the Merlin's eyes before it could snap its neck, that and they kill thousands of native birds, however, I agree in the sense that they don't know right from wrong

    You stated that Arya isn't a quick killer, so are you helping? Snapping their neck or something? Also, I see you trade-off unintentional bird types and showed how you do the tradeoff in a previous video. But I am still lost on how are you taking the intentional kills from her. I have to assume you aren't letting her eat them in your car. Obvious concerns for weight management, and of course bird guts all over the car. I'd love for you to explain that away for me. I am considering becoming an apprentice and trying to nail down some of the fundamentals ahead of time.

    I may do a narrated video sometime. But just to answer your questions now. I hurry out because she's small enough for any other predators to go after. Especially while she so vulnerable, coopers hawks and cats being the biggest threat. She would also take a good while to actually kill the bird and I don't like my game to suffer any more than they have to. Also the starlings weigh almost as much as she does, and could potentially hurt but or damage her feathers. The cemetery is just a safe spot loaded with starling, and very little traffic.

  • @smithfalconry8050

    @smithfalconry8050

    @@Alex-dr6sv honestly my God has a better kill/miss ratio. It's also no less unnatural than a falcon hunting over a pointer. Starling are a major pest here, and there excellent hawk food. So I kill as many as I can, if I could make it less fair I would.

    @@Alex-dr6sv just for reference according to my gopro we had 59 slips today, and 14 kills. If my gos missed that much I'd sell him. Starling are paranoid little birds, and pay more attention than people think. Takes a lot of slips before a starling makes a mistake.

    It's called falconry. It's been around for thousands of years in just about every culture. It's legal when you have the proper license for your state. He is also hunting an invasive species that does real harm to our native birds. So he is actually up to a good thing. Your cats are up to no good so keep it to yourself.

    @@billyb7561 thousands of years ago...there was the Flintstones and falconry was what Fred did whilst he drove Barney to and fro. Gimme a break! What this APPEARS to be is the equivalent to someone fighting dog's. This isn't falconry from thousands of years ago...seriously though, if you want to keep the sport alive and pass it on to other generations it's best to explain yourself. Whilst you're judging me I've educated myself on the subject.... FOR EXAMPLE:

  • @dublbude

    @dublbude

    Жыл бұрын

    @@catwoman2596 it looks pretty self explanatory to me. A man and a bird are hunting together. They look like quite a team, achieving a better success rate than either would have by themselves. I am sure the man would have a hard time killing the invasive birds by himself, and I am sure the bird appreciates the stealth approach the car allows the opportunity for, allowing for extra kills.
